This is a tiny application that tells where and when your mac or ipod was made:

in "About" and it will say: 7K547 = Made 47th Week of 2007.![]()
You are talking about the first part of the serial number right?
Thanks, Thats cool, mine was just made the 9th week of this year.
ok so if the first 5 digits to my serial is 86747, this means what?
88809
Yours was manufactured between Feb 23 - Mar 3, 2008. Brand SPANKIN' New.![]()
Also, if you iPhone serial number starts with 5K then it is a refurb.![]()
Are you sure?
Mine starts with 5K but is 5K808... which would imply it was made in the end of February of this year, correct? I got it in exchange for my old one about 2 weeks ago.
Because it isn't a refurb...
I don't think 5K means refurbished.
Alright that would be good information. I don't think Apple would give us refurbished iPhones if we got ours replaced because of an error, because that means Apple takes the iPhone, deletes the serial number, and makes a new serial number specific for that iPhone.
Plus, if it was made only like 3 weeks ago, and we have them, how would they be refurbished...
