I hear people quote the week it was made... How do you know that?

I like that App...

thanks, I typed in my iPhone serial number and it gave me a "window" but didn't say where it was made. (Yes, earthdawn that is correct, 30th week of 2007 because we haven't made it to the 30th week in 2008 yet and 7R7 is the year 2007) Also, if you iPhone serial number starts with 5K then it is a refurb. :p

When iphone was made

I can't download that program so can anyone tell me when mine was made please?

The first part of mine is 88751.

Thanks so much!

Yours was made around Christmas of last year.

The 3rd digit is the year. 2007

Then the week: 51, which 52 weeks in a year.

Are you sure?
Mine starts with 5K but is 5K808... which would imply it was made in the end of February of this year, correct? I got it in exchange for my old one about 2 weeks ago.

Huh. Just seems odd that the phone was made between February 23 and March 1, I got it on March 15, and it had already been refurbed.

Because it isn't a refurb...

I don't think 5K means refurbished.

Hey NickS, I just spoke with an Assistant Store Manager at the local Apple Store and explained that I had a new 7K### iPhone and had a replacement iPhone after a software glitch, and I received a new replacement 5K### iPhone in October '07; well my son's girlfriend buys a refurbished 5K### iPhone and had the opportunity to check out 7 other iPhone's with 5K### serial numbers. So, the ASM invited me to her Apple Store at 8:00pm tonight, to address this same matter, hopefully I'll have the answer at that time and a NEW iPhone and not a "refurbished" iPhone. I'll be in touch.:confused::eek:

Alright that would be good information. I don't think Apple would give us refurbished iPhones if we got ours replaced because of an error, because that means Apple takes the iPhone, deletes the serial number, and makes a new serial number specific for that iPhone.

Plus, if it was made only like 3 weeks ago, and we have them, how would they be refurbished...

Yep, my concern exactly when I spoke with AppleCare, but I probably never would have had that conversation with the Apple folks, had it not been for my son's girlfriend getting a refurbished iPhone with the same serial number (5K) as my NEW replacement iPhone. I'm hoping they aren't giving refurbs to people that are paying "full-pop" for NEW iPhones.
