I have a new 3Gs iPhone (not even a week yet) and a 1st gen and a 2nd Gen Touch. I've never dropped either, but I have been a LITTLE loose when I handle the Touches. However, now tha tI have the iPhone and since it's my phone and handle it a LOT more, I am extremely caustious and almost nervous when pulling it out of my pocket.

I might just have it surgically attached to my left hand so I do not have that stress anymore ;-)

It's in a Griffin Reveal with a screen protector, and I'll occasionally lightly toss it on the couch or the bed, but I don't even let my friends use it... Unless it's life or death, and even then, I'm still gonna be the one to use it.

i just have my 3gs in a rubber case, no screen protector or anything but i rarely let people use it unless i really trust them

8. I never do anythng so that it would drop on the floor. Im always careful holding it when I have a few other things in my hand. But i'll still throw it on my bed, spin it around in my hand or throw it up a few inches/a foot and catch it when im bored. I also have a case on it.

I thought I was being careful until it fell out of my pocket into the toilet Saturday. When I get the replacement I will be even MORE careful. I'm not so worried about small scratches on the back or whatever, but iPhone didn't enjoy the swim.

Probably around a 7. I don't have a screen protector or a case for it, I just use one of those little iPod socks to protect it when it's in the pocket of my purse. I let my eight year old and four year old niece use it to take pictures if I am babysitting them. There's no point in having a gadget if you aren't going to feel comfortable having fun with it.

I'm about an eight. I have a screen protector and a Capsule Rebel which protect my Iphone 3GS immensely, so I myself am not too worried about it being damaged.

My Iphone 3G, though? Let's just say that I learned better.

Well, i ride BMX and riding with listening music from iPhone. Sometimes it happens that i fall but i have case on...

My number drops with each passing week. I have it in a case now. However, it goes in a pocket by itself. I'll let it slide around tha car a bit now. I'll even let the kids (6 & 8) play with it.

I'm pretty much how a lot of people say they are with their iPhone, but what most call an '8' I think of as '5'. I do have a capdase crystal case around mine, but it has fallen on carpet and wooden floor several times.

I'm an 8 too. I'm careful when I hold it, but there have been a few times when I've dropped it. I do keep my eyes on it when other people are using it though.

Well i have a screen protector on it and an Otterbox Defender and that goes inside a cell phone case that is strapped to my belt. (one of those heavy duty cases police wear) Yes im serious:apple:

Well I've had every iphone, and this is the first one I really put a case on, but with saying that no more or less with any device I buy.

I'm so careful that when anyone touches my phone I say DAMMIT!!! WHATCHU DOIN TOUCHIN THAT PHONE!!!" and when they say calm down, why are you acting so wierd I start crying and telling them that its all glandular and that I can't help it. My daddy left when I was three and my mother is a crack whore, but not a bad one, just a little deviant in her behavior but she's working on it with therapy and all. Then they say "Oh its okay. I feel bad for you" and when they get close... I grab my phone and say "STAY AWAY FROM MY PHONE" as I run away erratically with my shoes that have little wheels. When I get home, I post it on my facebook and tweet about it all day while watching Live with Regis and Kelly drinking my mocha latte. Oh that Regis!!!

I'd say that's within normal standards so what? a 3 maybe

I babied my 2G iPhone. As in treated it like my own child and hardly ever let anyone else touch it. That changed once I got the iPhone 3G that set me back only $300 compared to the $600 of the other phone, along with the whole "novelty" of the iPhone that wore off. I got a case for it and pretty much beat it to snot and let other people play with it as much as they want. I had to get it replaced at the genius bar in May and he listed the cosmetic condition as "poor." Its a phone. I'll use it like a phone. I got an invisibleshield for my iPhone 3GS though.

My MacBook Pro? That's a different story.
