So how did Mods get to be mods? Is there some type of voting system? Or money? Or what? 😕

I'm just curious BTW 🙂

If we told you, we'd have to kill you...

But, mods seem to be self-selecting by either themselves or Arn... guessing though.

Last time a bevy* of mods was selected, they also elevated one edesignuk who had expressed a desire to be involved. I think a longish well-behaved and helpful history of posting on the site, being a contributor, and having a particular area of expertise all helps but these are just guesses.

To paraphrase: Best not to meddle in the affairs of mods for they are subtle and quick to anger.

*what's a good name for a plural of mods?

some of my favourite collective nouns....how about:

an abomination [monks]
a babble [barbers]
a convocation [eagles]
a flange 😱 [baboons]
a gaggle [geese]
a geek [engineers] <- surely this is a winner 😛
an intrusion [cockroaches]
a mischief [mice]
a murmuration [starlings]
a rabble [rats]
a scourge [mosquitoes]
a superfluity [nuns]
a ubiquity [sparrows]

or quite simply just a mob. the mob?

They were Elves once. Taken by the Dark powers, tortured and mutilated. A ruined and terrible form of life. And now... perfected! 😀

If edesignuk is a mod mini, should we also have mod nanos?
Yeah! How about a Mod nano where their powers are restricted to just correcting others spelling or grammar but can't ban or lock threads.

Well, if we are going to have mod nano's then we darn well better have mod shuffles too.. Can't let the new kid on the block have all the fun. 🙂

With the power to to close down threads and ban users at random? 😀

No, with the powers of a normal mod but with everyone blocked so they can't actually see what they're doing. 😛

But nanos have more power than minis. Besides, shouldn't we replace Mod minis with Mod nanos? 😉 😀 😱 🙄 😎 😛

Yar! Be ye' sayin' that the mods be disk-less wonders, lad?

How about a DELL mod that everyone hates.

I would make a terrible mod. If someone disagreed with me or said something that didn't make any sense, they'd get banned. Ah well, that's just me.

Power mod G5 next week

With dual cores?

BTW, normally I detest animated avatars, but yours made me LOL. I looked at it for a long time. I am feeling sleepy. Very very sleepy. Your wish is my command...

One more:

a murder [crows]

Definitely like the engineer one (is it true?)

How about
A murder of mods?
