There's ONE thing more annoying...people walking around a store or other public place having a conversation on their phone on speakerphone. :D
This one definitely wins, although a close second for me is in movies/tv when a government alert or something goes out and a room full of people all get it at the same time and everybody's phone makes a unique sound.... like nobody would have a phone on silent.

In regards to the thread topic, I actually really like the ding. Very crisp sounding. Of course if I'm having a conversation the sound is off. I also really like the sound/haptic when the watch connects to Apple TV for a Fitness+ workout. I'd love to be able to use that elsewhere.

For government warnings and Amber alerts, my phone makes sound even when it's on silent (which it is for me 100% of the time). I didn't think those could be silenced, only turned off completely.

Apple has a monopoly over content that comes out of the watch, therefore we are stuck w this crappy ding for the next several decades if Apple's past+present complacency is any indication.
