    Hi,

I live in Kyiv, Ukraine and we have two Apple stores here: Mac House and Mac Store. Both of them state that they are 100% authorized Apple resellers. However I decided to check it, went to apple.com and found these pages:
    http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html
    http://www.apple.com/euro/

The problem is that my country is not listed there
Does this mean that both stores are bad and dishonest guys? Or do I search in wrong places?

They could be selling Apple products, just not authorized by Apple. Apples list of sellers and resellers should be relatively accurate.

most likely, apple is a huge coporation that has everything organized. if stuff isnt listed on the site then its mostly likely not out or true. but then again nobody is perfect, the place could just be missing

    Huge success! :)
I was randomly clicking through the site and found this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434?viewlocale=en_US
And at last I saw my country in the list! But after following that link I found myself here:
    http://www.apple.com/euro/cemea/
That doesn't look like a list of shops :( It looks like a list of nearby countries with Apple authorized shops :( :( So I don't have another choise but to conclude that both our stores are cheaters that sell overpriced products claiming that they are :apple: authorized but in reality being absolutely similar to all our numerous small shops that sell Macs too.
The good news is that I figured this out before paying around $3.5K for a macbook pro. :)

No Apple Authorized Dealers in Ukraine

Hi, I thought I would just let you know that there are NO Apple Authorized dealers anywhere in Ukraine. The closest one is on Poland or Russia depending on which is closer to you and visa matters.

I also live in Ukraine and we have a MacStore in our city as well, but although they like to represent themselves as being very similar to an Apple Store (including they're marketing and store design), they are not authorized by Apple (as evidenced by the fact that they do not sell iPhones. They do however sell real, honest apple products.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah, I already know that but it was extremely hard to figure out because our MacStores claim that they are official stores. And only after pushing them hard, I made them confirm that "By saying 'official stores' we technically mean that we are almost official stores because blah-blah-blah"

The fact that they don't sell iPhones doesn't mean anything. We have Apple Authorized Resellers here (they're even listed on the Apple website) and they don't sell the iPhone, the iPhone here is only sold by the carriers.

iland.com.ua is an official reseller, the first official reseller in ukraine.

I'm pissed off that none of these "resellers" (m-house.com.ua, istore.ua, machouse.ua, iland.com.ua) have Ukrainian-language sites, and that apple still isn't officially present in Ukraine.

And that they have huge prices (compared to the US store)...and do not accept warranty of the stuff baught at the US store if a 40% tax is not payed for it.
Yeah, those all are "resellers" (not resellers) unless something has changed since I started this topic. They claim they are official and everything but when you push them hard, they say that technically they are not but this is a formality and they are getting the license tommorow. You know I can power a shopping cart, upload a lot of mac products there and when someone buys there, buy that at ebay and handle that product tto that customer. This will make the same "reseller" as those shops are :)

Unfortunately I found Macs a bad investment afterall. For the money I was going to spend on a macbook pro I managed to get a powerfull PC with great 24" display + a 9" inch (with great stats by that time) eee pc. However once I get to the USA I most likely reconsider this and will get a mac. :)

Hey you know, I heard that macstore (now istore.ua) sells second-hand mac products. Its dissapointing that negotiations failed between Apple and Ukrainian mobile operators, that way if iphone would be sold, so would the other apple products, it happened like that in Russia didn't it?

Sad theme :( Sometimes I feel like Apple is ignoring Ukraine... it is not listed in most of their resources, even to get to there WWDC conference was a nightmare... and after all the money spent on their products, heh... we are a big country!

Exactly, it seems really weird. We're probably the only European country without an apple website, even though we are one of the biggest in terms of both population and area.

Wait I think there are resellers recognized by apple:
    hhttp://www.apple.com/chfr/buy/locator/
Just write "Kyiv" where it says "votre ville", 4 resellers come up, 1 of them is macstore (istore now).

Wow, cool, it seems that we already have authorized resellers. Which brings the initial question: if I buy a product at eBay (a legal product which will have a valid ID that can be successfully verified at apple.com), am I going to receive free repairs in case of hardware fail. 'cause prices are still a bit different :)

If the warranty still hasn't expired, then I don't see why not.

    Greetings Crovax,
do the local mac dealers sell the long euro cable adapter for the Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter? Can't seem to find one on-line, and that would have been handy in Kiev last summer. Will be back there in July.
    Thanks for any advise!

If they are not authorized Apple stores they still could be honest (to a degree) if they are selling real Apple products. The only problem I see if it comes to warranty work. I don't see how they could provide that.
