And there is no way I will modify my phone in anyway that goes against Apple policy and that will void my warranty. Apple obviously doesn't want people to do such a thing, so it must obviously be bad for the phone. Not sure why anyone would do this.

it's not bad for the phone, but it is not the "perfect" seem less product that Apple strives for. And, apple can't control what you put on it...Apple likes to have control like that.

Only if that average person is one of the non average people who doesnt have internet and the ability to use google.

And doesn't do any research whatsoever before buying a $500 (or whatever it costs in america) phone.

Some people, even if they have Internet and google, don't know what it is, and don't understand. Are you saying your grandparent(s) would instantly understand what jailbreaking is if you talked to them about it, "because they are average and have Internet and google"?

And, it's $200ish in America.

@OP - You sound like you just may have been bit with the Android bug.

As an Apple customer, never point out the deficiencies of an Apple device on these forums. If there is one thing a blind follower of Apple hates more than an Android device, is an Apple customer being impressed with an Android device. And no I am not kidding. Just look at the posters laughing at you and making fun. No reason for it.

And for what it's worth, the screens you posted are exactly what you say they are, extremely stylish and very classy. Good eye. And those "icons" are actually widgets. The flexibility in Android is endless. I know your iPhone is new, but you may want to take an Android phone for a spin if you really want your phone to truly be YOUR PHONE.

Definitely gonna keep my iPhone but I think your right about being bitten by the bug. I took a look at some of those other phones this morning and I must say, the screens on some of those phones are drool worthy. My phone seems so insignificant now. I'm just a hair under 6 feet so I have average size hands. I can say without doubt, I feel completely comfortable holding a 4.5 inch screen phone. I feel I really want to get into this tech now, but it seems I could end up having 2 phones. :p

Not being offensive... But this whole thread made me LOL. I just had to comment on it.

@OP, would of been a good idea for you to have done done research before you bought a phone to what suited your needs best. It is very evident that you would have been much happier with an android phone. Just because you pay lots of money for a phone, does not mean it is more suited to your own personal taste in what YOU want from it.

Well you're 100% right that $$$ spent does not equal best purchase. But I guess I just went with the flow. Everyone seems to have an iPhone, and at the time of purchase, I thought there are a lot of phones out there, and if I just buy the number one selling phone, how can I go wrong? I've seen people stand in line for hours for this thing. It was my assumption that all phones must all be capable of doing the same thing. Of course I was point blank wrong on that. But who would have thought that something like customizing your phone would be so restricted on computer like device. People always tell me how easy Apple devices are to use. But I don't see how they are any easier than anything else out there. In the end, this is not to say I made a horrible purchase. I'll keep the phone, but that doesn't mean I'm restricted from buying another device. Which I most likely will in the spring time.

Got it. Thanks.
I'm Just a little surprised that something so basic like customizing a screen is not possible with an app. I was amazed at the level of personalization he was able to do with his lockscreens and homescreens. He was able to chose his clocks, weather icons that he could have update automatically or manually, even the look of his email, sms, caller notifications, etc.. He was even able to change the locker slider to match the style he was going for. I was instantly impressed, which is why I am now so disappointed to hear I cannot do the same with a phone that is much more expensive than his.

A bit off topic, but I'm really curious about how the iPhone is so expensive.

I have never been able to sell Android phones for anything near what I paid for them, so when upgrading I always came out negative. Yet I just sold my 2.5 year old iPhone for $50 more than I paid for it 2.5 years ago. I just never understood the whole "iPhones are expensive" deal.
