how do i make vlc default player

    hello all, just like the title says. i just got my first mac and im probably going to ask more silly questions here as i learn my way around osx. thx.

    cool beans. thanks for your help i just switched vlc to be default player. but what if you dont have an avi file. Is there any way of make vlc the default player without having an avi file to get info from?

    Your going to need a sample of the file type that you want to default to VLC.

    I know there's a preference pane that you can install that lets you set the default program. I believe it's this one.

    Wow. Thank you very much Sir. I appreciate your help. I guess there really is no reason as to why you would need to vlc to be default if you have no media to play, I was just curious. Thanks again;)
