Most people that are getting the plus did you previously own a 32gb or 64gb to justify paying the extra?

I settled on the 6 which I believe is £10 cheaper in the uk was than the 5s but still £40 more than it was a few years back.

Most I see go for the plus 64gb which is almost £700 or something which seems very expensive if going sim free.

I just water my money tree regularly. :)

I get the a new iPhone and iPad every year.

For the phone its easy as i am on a £12.50 sim only contract which is £25 per month saving on a phone contract. 25 * 12 =£300 plus £330 trade in on my 5s - £630. Means a new phone every year.

Ill be too busy playing with my new phone to eat for a couple of weeks. Im a software engineer.

You dont get rich buying overpriced products.

Qft. In a survey I read, the most popular car among the top earners (think it was top 10%) is the Toyota Camry. Most of those BMWs are Audis are probably leases. Rich people are very careful with their money. The ikea founder drives a 1993 Volvo. Mark zuckerberg drives a tsx.

The 6+ is only $100 more than the 6. I keep my phones for the full 2 year contract period. I'm only paying $0.13 more every day for the 6+ than I would be the 6. Well worth it, considering how much I use my iPhone on a daily basis.

Also, better value in general in the 6+ rather than the 6, IMO. x2 resolution, OIS, etc. for only $100 more.

Like many others have obviously pointed out, I work. I anticipate the release of these new iPhones. It's every fall. There's no mystery behind it, so I can prepare by setting spare $ aside well in advance. It's a phenomenon called "saving," which many people don't seem to grasp nowadays.

It really is only $100 more... I bought a 64GB iPhone Plus in gold outright through Verizon so I can keep my unlimited dat plan. $849 plus tax... It's not cheap by any means.

I thought they were doing away with that even for grandfathered plans?

Well, in the US I'm buying subsidized on contract. I went with the 64GB iPhone 6, but even the most expensive Plus is only $599.

I know, "only" , but buying off contract is another story. You have to have priorities. If I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't, but I've saved money for the past 3 years (a little along and along) to get the new phone and maybe the iPad, though my iPad 3 is still fine.

My 4S back glass is coming off!

I did all that. I had plenty of cash. Then I got married. :) So I'm trading in our 5ss for $300 each on gazelle and now we're getting the six plus for not much at all.

I ordered the 128GB iPhone 6 plus. For me the $100 for double storage is well worth it, ymmv.

$140,000 year (salary, plus pension) and being careful with finances. thats how I do it.. I can afford the 128GB, but I don't need it, hence being careful with finances. bought the wife a plus 16GB, she doesn't need no more storage, she uses iCloud.

The 6 with 128GB is also £699 (the option I chose). Eventually you end up paying over this for the term of a contract if you go that route on a lesser phone.

If you have a successful career after doing the right things to earn & achieve it, the full range of high priced Apple products are easily within reach.

Conversely if you'd rather sit on your duff and play video games you are likely eligible for a free O phone.
