Yes I charge mine at work. I do not use a case, so the Apple dock works great for me.

I also have the aluminium Lightning dock which you can adjust to support using your case. Of course this dock isn't exactly cheap for a slab of machined aluminium especially since you need to provide your own Lightning cable can get damaged in the process if you want to secure it properly. At least with the Apple one you can remove the cable at any time.

I used to use a dock. But I'm using my iPhone 5 less now that I'm having so much fun with my Galaxy Note 3.

If Apple decides to be courageous and include a 5" display in the next year or two, I'll be using an iPhone about 50% of the time as before.

I strongly hope they are not going to do that ....
4.5-4.7" is the right screen dimension for me. I don't want to carry an "iPad mini" with me all day long ...

Note 3 is everything but a smartphone in my opinion.

My workplace is cash only, no charges.

I agree. it's a very nice tablet, not a phone.

I respect your opinion, not everyone has identical needs.

The huge success of the Galaxy Note series has proven the worldwide popularity of this model. Smartphone display sizes have evolved while Apple has stubbornly insisted they know better than their customers. A tactic that's worked perfectly amongst the easily influenced complaint masses.

There's nothing wrong with a tiny screen for the casual user that spends time with games and other entertainment. The real advantage is the way it increases Apple's profit margins.

Conversely for the modern day web centric work performed by mobile execs and other power users, Samsung, Google, and Android have proven how valuable a full featured contemporary smartphone is.

Widely denied by the Apple devotees, they'll be eating their words if Apple switches to proper sized displays. Suddenly, just as Apple has proven time after time, iPhones with large displays will be declared magical and world changing.

It's as predictable as good old Apples high prices :)

At work a regular Apple plug with lightning cable, just keep the phone on the desk while working when needed after lunch.
In the car a 12V DC charger with dual USB 2.1 Amp output with Apple lightning cable, and to hold it on the windshield I use an iOttie (highly recommended).

It's all about personal needs.
I don't consider 4" "tiny" at all.

My personal choice would be a 4.7" iPhone, but nothing bigger than that.
I strongly want to be able to actually take my smartphone with me and use it like a phone.
Every time I look a someone making a phone call with a Note it makes me laugh.

I am amazed that some of the places of employment allow you to attach personal devices to the usb ports of company computers. Wow, talk about lack of security.

Unless you're going to disable the USB ports, there's really no way to stop them.

We have a stated policy that you cannot connect personal devices to company computers, and we take the cables when we find them. ^_^

The really annoying (to me) ones are the people who unplug the audio cable between the computer and the monitor (we have integrated speakers in most of our monitors) and plug it into their iPod/iPhone/iPad.

Pretty simple, I have a pro clip dock in my car so I try not to charge at work since I arrive with a full battery and charge my phone on the drive home. I do carry a lightning cable in my bag that I can plug into my laptop if I need to charge at work.
