First screen size increase on pro line since 12/pro to 6.1 from 11 pro at 5.8

Go go go …

(Also how odd 11 pro was 5.8 oled but regular 11 was 6.1 lcd, looking back but .. guess that’s gonna be the case here regular 16 is 6.1 and 16 pro 6.3 and similar 16plus is 6.7 and 16 pro max 6.9 )

It’s not a huge change but for me I think I’ll be positive about the screens getting a tiny amount bigger 🙂

The screen size increase will make upgrading from a 13 Pro Max to a 16 Pro not as drastic a change (going from 6.7 -> 6.3 inches) while still allowing me the other benefits I want such as better one handed use ability and lighter weight.

Our brains are highly adaptable and I think most people will simply get used to the new screen sizes, the same way they did the last time the screens increased from the 11 series to the 12 series (5.8 -> 6.1 and 6.5 -> 6.7 inches).

Even though I’m not upgrading this year, I’m excited for the increase in screen sizes for the Pro Max. Next Year’s upgraded screen size will be nice for me.

It’s a combination of aspect ratio change, larger form factor, and reduced bezels. The new aspect ratio means it’s more like a 6.8-inch in terms or display area.

Wish the pro was just wider. I have the 14 PM just for the bigger keyboard real estate, but would love to go to the smaller pro again with a bigger keyboard.

I'm happy,

You cam still skrink the bezels a little and increase the screen size a little.

But for a phone?

7" is probably the realistic limit for a phone, and I always wanted the iphone to match the 6.9 of the Galox phones.

I am eyeing up the 16 Pro. I found the 14 Pro Max to be far too big, to the point it triggered arthritis in my hand. A marginally bigger iPhone 13 with a 5x zoom is the dream.

For me, I’m not a fan at all. I have the 15 Pro and while the screen size is okay for me, I prefer the 5.8” size (or even smaller. That said, I’m indifferent on if I’m going to get the 16/Pro, especially if the colors of the Pro models are essentially the same (except that ugly “gold” color).

TBH, I use a SE3 for work and minus the bezels, the size is perfect for holding and typing. I have gotten used to the size of the 15 Pro, but the SE is more comfortable in my hands and even with the smaller keyboard, I can type relatively quickly.

I get wanting to make the big version even bigger, but why increase the size of the regular model? People that want a bigger screen will buy the one with the much bigger screen
