Okay, I just looked at AT&T, and they said my iPhone is worth only $600. And it looks like they pay it as a monthly billing credit. I'm used to just buying my iPhones outright.

Which carrier is giving $1000?

People are not reading the carrier offers.

Boost Mobile is offering $1000 in bill credits - spread out over 36 months.

No trade in required!

I'm not really complaining about only getting $650. That's about the same trade-in values they've given for the last few years. My point is that they were being deceptive by saying you can get up to $1000. I don't recall them quoting a maximum trade-in value in previous years that was so out of line with what Apple is paying.

Also the videos & pictures they demonstrated of the new camera looks super over-processed still. Meaning that the iPhone 11 Pro still has the best camera system of all the iPhones.
You're making me regret my decision of letting go of my iPhone 11 Pro Max, but yes, I do agree that the photos are over-processed... It seems to me that the only good thing regarding iPhone 12 series and newer is Dolby Vision [HDR video]

Also, was storage capacity ever a consideration with the trade in value?

$1000 credit for 3 years - Boost Mobile - NO trade in needed!

That's a great deal, but you are tied to the carrier for 3 years!

How is it possible that Tim Apple can charge $1200 for the Pro Max and a year later only gives nearly HALF for trade in credit? I mad mad mad
That's why you sell it on eBay or right here in the Macrumors classifieds.

Trading it in is the same as trading a car in. If you can't be bovvered to spend the time selling it yourself and getting what it's worth on the market, because your time is more valuable than the difference in $, then trading your phone in and losing a few hundred extra dollars is an alternate option that starts to makes more sense. I'm notoriously cheap and watch every penny so I sell everything. To my Dad, it's not worth the time & effort to think about a matter of a thousand bucks and gives his mint phones away to whoever wants them every year or so when a new one shows up in the mail.

Agree - if you don't want to hassle with selling it yourself, then better to go with Apple or carrier trade in.

I can't believe my 14+ trade in is only $320.

I'll be selling mine online for $500 easy....

Apple Vietnam is offering about $640 USD for my iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB. Doesn't seem too bad.

It’s weird I think part of the presentation for the regular models maybe they just said it without qualifying carriers are involved. The second go round with pro they did.

Deceptive intro the idea but they did clarify later in presentation. If memory serves me right (I could be off)

I sent mine off to itsworthmore.com last week and already got back $770 for my base 15 pro max in "very good" condition.
I checked there and their offer was much lower than Apple's trade-in value for my 13 Pro. It looks like they are better for newer phones.

Umm… no one can force you to buy a new phone you know… it’s their business, they can ask whatever they want. It’s the wallet votes that count. All else is just noice.

CRIMINAL is an understatement.
How is it possible that Tim Apple can charge $1200 for the Pro Max and a year later only gives nearly HALF for trade in credit? It isn't even cash we are talking about and then to release a new iPhone that is super underwhelming? I have lost faith in Apple for the first time for being super greedy. They are not decently fair like they used to be. People should stop defending a company that does not value us. Without us
They are NOTHING  Also the videos & pictures they demonstrated of the new camera looks super over-processed still. Meaning that the iPhone 11 Pro still has the best camera system of all the iPhones.
Why does Apple owe you any trade-in money at all? You bought the phone. You can do whatever you want with it, including selling it if you don't like what Apple is offering.

During the Apple event this morning, they said you can get up to $1000 off the price of a new iPhone with a trade-in. I checked on the Apple website, and they only offered $650 for the trade-in for my iPhone 15 Pro Max with 512GB storage. WTF? Seems deceptive to me.

I'm sure they're talking about Verizon/ATT probably subsidizing you $1000 IF you agree to a contract.

What device have now? Trade in value and getting $1000 credits are two different deals. Looks like if you have ip12 or newer can get $1000. Monthly over 36.
