How do you get the Continuity feature to work?

I'm restoring my old iPhone becauxe maybe it's conflicting with the new ones. Also I just removed the sim for the old iPhone I'll uodste you guys when I'm done.

Thought I read about an encryption error with wifi causing this to not work. Make sure both devices have the same encryption setup.

How can I get the handoff setting appear on my iPad 3? Isn't it suppose to be under Settings -> General ?? I can find it on my 6+ but updated my iPad today and it is not there.

Do I need to restore? I have powered off and done a soft reset (power button + home button till apple logo appears).

Ah snap. That's my bad. I looked at the site earlier today. Guess I missed that. That sucks that it doesn't work. Oh well. Thank you for the answer!
