I like it to go under, but I don't have a toilet paper holder so it just sits on my countertop.

Umm... What if we have interleave toilet paper?

I put it on however I'm holding it. I don't care either way, and none of my roommates have complained.

On the counter, usually with the roll facing me and the paper coming from around the other side.

I never could understand why they mount the TP holders so damn low. If you put it at a more reasonable height, like say.. door knob height, having it come out from under makes a lot more sense to me.

Last time I saw a discussion like this on a forum, someone asked if you wipe standing or sitting on the toilet. XD

Dude, over the top. Anything else would be uncivilized.

*turns nose up and scoffs*

Holy crap of a thread resucitation - 10 1/2 months

Do people seriously look for old, useless threads to dredge up? I'd understand resucitation a technology issue...but over/under the roll. Particularly when some TP company just had a national poll on this issue?

Over the top, always. Don't understand people saying it's easier to dispense the other way, as it's more difficult to find the end. In public restrooms, invariably when I have trouble finding the end, it's coming down the wall, not over the top where you can find it more easily.

In one bathroom at home, there's a problem. The air vent is right under the tp holder which is mounted below the window sill. When it gets low, the forced air is enough to unroll the rest of it due to it now being much lighter. I'm now wondering if "down the wall" would prevent that. Hmmm.

This particular tp holder is the best design ever. It's just a rod with a slightly bent end. You just slip the roll over it; a one-hand maneuver. With this design, it would be possible to mount it vertically, and have the tp unroll towards you. I didn't think of trying that when I installed it.
