Aggie - Can you advise how to get the apps from iTunes app library back to the new iPhone without redownloading them all?
My apps are already in iTunes...I'm trying to understand how to get those apps from my iTunes onto my new iPhone 4. I was trying to help my mom with this earlier when her 3G upgrade to iOS 4 deleted her apps, but I couldn't find where in iTunes to make the entire app library copy back to the iPhone.
Any advice?

Well, assuming you have them in iTunes, you just sync them to the new phone. Make sure you right click on the old iPhone in iTunes and transfer purchases to make sure you have everything before syncing to the new phone. But yeah, sync .your .phone.![]()
Always setup as new. If the texts are that important use iPhone Backup Extractor and SQLite Database Browser to save them somewhere. Game saves, youll just have to deal with until Apple gives users a way to sync these somehow.
I'll be restoring from the backup of my 3GS. I've got my 3GS all set up the way I want my iPhone 4 to look. So, I'm all set.
BTW, that's the biggest reason I installed iOS 4 on my 3GS.... so I could set it up exactly how I want my iPhone 4 to look.

Hmm...not sure if you saw my post earlier, but I was helping my mom update her 3G phone to iOS4 this evening and for some reason it kept her contacts, but it deleted all of her apps -- she wasn't too concerned since she's scheduled to get her iP4 tomorrow...but I thought it might be an issue tomorrow when starting with a clean phone too.
I told her to try syncing and she did...and she said the apps still weren't showing up on her iPhone, but they were showing up in the app library. (Granted, all of this was over the phone, so I have no idea what she was doing...but she said she synced multiple times and it didn't work)
How would I go about doing so before it gets here? I have a Mac.You need to sync them with something. If you have a Mac that would Address Book; if you have a PC, it’s either Outlook (the best) or Windows Address Book (or whatever it’s called in Vista and 7).
Then go to iTunes, and click the Apps tab when the iPhone is plugged in and make sure Sync Apps is check-marked.
