how do you protect your macbook pro, shell or sleeve?

I use a Speck case on both of mine. They are moved around and transported regularly. The case on my 15 has already saved it from a pretty good gash that would have been on the lid. I've never had an issue with the case itself causing any types of scratches from dirt/grit getting caught between it and the laptop

I use a sleeve. I also use a skin on the top case to prevent scratches.

This. Blue carbon fiber skin, then throw it in a sleeve when in backpack

I use a matte Black Speck snap on shell. No problems, so far.

Im using a SeeThru Speck (clear) case on my rMBP 15".

I use the InCase Icon sleeve for my 13" retina MacBook Pro. Keeps it protected while keeping the form factor nice and sleek.

After several recommendations here and checking it out in person in an Apple store I got the same one. I haven't tried doing it yet but apparently the only issue is if you can call it an issue is that you can't sit the MacBook on top of the case as the magnet in the case puts the HD in sleep mode apparently.
