I find typing short-hand harder on the iPhone and typing long-hand easier because to do short hand I would have to keep changing between numeric and alphabetic keyboard and Caps Lock.

Take advantage of the QWERTY keyboard, I type in full, properly spelled English words ;)

I spell everything out the proper way. This is partly because I'm an English major and I have some very strong thoughts about "text spelling," and partly because it's proper grammar. On my old cellphones with T9 I still used longhand spelling; in fact, I hate text spelling with a fiery passion. It's one of my pet peeves.

I don't abbreviate words or use shorthand, but I do not always use complete sentences.

it is only proper cellular device etiquette to use little to no acronyms with a device that has a qwerty keyboard.

i can understand "g2g, c u l8er, lol roflmao" on a device that makes your punch the number 5 key 3 times just to pull out the letter "L".

now thats just my opinion.

I actually find it takes longer to use "txt talk".

Sometimes I'll be poking out a message, with one finger or thumb, taking forever, and something will just click in me and I'll get both thumbs on there and really just bang it out in no time.

Two thumbs, full sentence is the only way to go.

Well, I use "the basics" when it comes to shorthand. I use LOL, BRB the occasional BBIAF, etc. I don't (or very rarely) use YMMV, IANAL, IDK, etc. That goes for both my typing on a computer or on my iPhone. :)

Wow, I know LOL and BRB, I have no idea what the other ones mean. :D

I type in full because I hate to get a text that's full of short cuts. It may be shorter to type but it takes longer to read.

Full sentences generally.
Occasional use of "K" for OK, "idk" for i don't know, and "abt" for about (no quotes, of course). I use these when I'm in my car and trying not to text much while driving.

the long way, it doesn't take any extra time because I already text so quick on the iPhone

I text in proper English without abbreviations, unless it's a long text and I'm worried about surpassing the character limit (my husband doesn't like it when my messages to him get split up). Then, I'll use "u" for you and "TTYL" and a few other abbreviations.

Long hand.

It's not an iPhone thing, I've always typed long hand and used T9 on my old phones.

If anyone sends me a text full of "txt talk" I send them one back requesting a translation into English. :)

That's how I do it too except it's my friend instead of a husband. ;)
