but Apple has a litle box around the "S" to make it stand out from the 3G. Every time I see it typed "3G S" with the space between the G and the S which looks like it's staring another word, I have to go back and take another looksie to make sure what model they are talking about. Maybe I need glasses.

I'd say many iPhones 3G S or many 3G S iPhones, probably the latter.

I believe it only displays correctly on a Mac (handles fonts better than windows).
