I have a BiteSMS question. Does anyone know of a way to disable the feature where if I tap on the status bar icon it displays the notification center? I want to keep the blue icon in the status bar but disable that tap feature. Since it doesn't pop up the quick reply window any more when you tap the icon but instead drops down the notification center, it's more annoying than useful. Whenever I want to use a status bar activator action, but have an unread text message, I'm always accidentally opening the notification center. Does anyone know how I can keep the icon but disable the NC?

Does anyone else have this same problem? If so what was your workaround? Surely I can't be the only person who wants to keep an unread text in the NC but accidentally open the NC when trying to use a status bar activator action. Thanks for any feedback...even if it's not what I want to hear.

are you using lockinfo??? I remember when I had Lockinfo installed, this would happen to me all the time; I'd double tap on the BiteSMS bubble on the status bar and it would always open LockInfo.

Edit: From one of your post in another thread, it suggest that you are using LI. If that's the case, it's definitely an Activator issue. I never took the time to figure it out but it shouldn't be too difficult to fix.

Hope this gives you some insight to your problem.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have Lockinfo. Is this a conflict between the two apps? In ios4 when I had an unread text message I could tap on the blue bubble in the status bar and it would open up the quick reply widow. But then ios5 came out with the notification center. At first bitesms completely did away with tapping the bubble for the QR but at some point the dev added it back to bite but it was designed to open the NC (I think).

Anyways, when I tap the bubble, instead of the QR popping up, it drops down the notification center. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that supposed to happen? I thought that was now the default behavior. Regardless, what I'm trying to accomplish is disable that tap feature altogether but keep the blue bubble status bar icon. You're suggesting that it's a conflict with Lockinfo correct? Sorry for the long reply, just trying to make sure we're on the same page before I have you typing out an unnecessary reply just for me. I appreciate your help!

If its a conflict with Lockinfo, then I have two choices. One, disable the blue bubble icon in bitesms settings and use lockifo's status bar icon for unread texts. Or two, keep everything as is and just live with the fact that sometimes I'm going to accidentally open the NC.

Thanks HiDEF. If I ever figure it out I'll report back. Not a big deal. Just annoying.

Infoshade/NC in LockInfo has some weird interaction with Activator. I have the same problem as well. I also noticed that since have the Calculator assigned to the Hold Status Bar gesture in Activator, that interferes with same issue you cited. If I tap the blue icon in the status bar, Infoshade/NC comes down. While there, if I tap the blue icon AGAIN, sometimes it opens up Calculator. It's weird.

You could turn off the blue bubble, then use another tweak to enable status bar notifications. I can think of the name of any off the top of my head, but I know there are some.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually have Lockinfo and I could use its text message status bar icon. I just like bite's icon much more. It looks better and also has the number of unread messages. Oh well. Thanks for your help. I'll prolly just use lockinfo's for a little while and see how it goes.

I have a bite question. In the changelog for the latest public release it says the following:

"FINALLY! Added Camera and Photo icon (via biteSMS pop-up menu) so you can easily send photo's in Quick Compose and Quick Reply."

Here's what I'm trying to figure out. In quick compose I can click on the camera icon for inserting an existing photo or I can take a new one with the camera. But in quick reply the only option I have is to take a new picture with the camera. So whenever I want to send a photo from my camera roll via the quick reply window, I can't do it. I have to close the QR window and open the bitesms app just to respond to a text with a photo.

Is this how it's supposed to work or am i doing something wrong? I find it strange that I have both options in the quick compose window but not in the quick reply window. Thanks for any feedback.

I just noticed also that when pressing the bitesms bubble in the status bar it's popping down the notification center. It never did this before and i'm not using LockInfo. Wonder why it's doing this. it never did before.

I'm 99% sure I remember reading that the dev intentionally set it up that way. He preferred to have that action of tapping the bubble to pop up the QR but because iOS5 introduced the notification center, he said it was too complicated to have the bubble open up the QR window. I am almost positive I remember reading that. And actually, Im ok with that. If that's how it has to be done then I completely understand. But surely there's gotta be a way to disable, no?

I looked and I don't see anything that disables it.

I figured it out. When you only have one unread text messages and you tap the bubble, it opens the quick reply. But when you have two or more unread messages, it opens the notification center.

Mine does this also but whenever i open up bitesms and open the converststion read the text it stays in the n. i have it set to open to list but i always have them in the nc but i already read them. Can anyone help me with this?
