Netspeed of 66 WPM. I didn't feel like taking and attaching a screenshot. That would have taken too much effort. Way more effort, in fact, than explaining that to you by typing it all out letter by letter. Well, I'm pretty sure it would have. :)

Holy crap, over 109wpm?! (on page 1 of this thread)

My results

Whelp, my speed was gross all right. I'm grateful for secretaries. (It took me 45 seconds just to type this, without errors.) :p

Not as fast as I used to be. My fingers have gone a bit stiff. It's a strange thing; I touch type, and when I look at the text the words just come out of my fingers, but if, for some reason, I use one finger for a few words I have to think about where all the keys are.

My typing speed is well over 100 wpm, but in a different language, my native language, not English.

In English, too, I can type at 80-90 word per minute or higher, although I've never really taken a wpm test to test my typing speed.

Typing at high speed with ten fingers without looking at the keyboard was always fascinating me. Once I thought I'd never be able to do it, but after some practice I found that it's no big deal at all.

At the beginning it was conterintuitive, but with the time it just kept getting speedier, and I'd say that my typing speed still grows faster every day.

The funny thing was that this was whe typing in the foreign language, but then, once I tried to touch type in English too (different alphabets), it came natural, and almost instantly I learned to type speedily with ten fingers.

It's really a good think to manage it. It's one of the basics skills that are so useful in daily life, even just to write E-mails. You can type so much more, when you do it speedily with ten fingers. It really becomes like a second nature.

BTW, on my website about typing, I've recently added a page for people to submit how fast they can type (http://www.online-typing-tutors-town.com/how-fast-do-i-type.html)

I did it once and was just kind of screwing around listening to music and such, so I decided to do it a second time with a different sample and take it seriously...

Net Speed: 114 WPM

Gross Speed: 120 WPM

I got 84 WPM with 4 errors, guess that's pretty decent. In my last typing class (5th grade, 7 years ago), I could only ever manage to get 30WPM. I learned more by just typing on my own since then, than in the class.

The highest I've ever tested was 81wpm back in 2001, with 1 error. Last test I took back in 2004, was at 49wpm with 0 errors. For me it depends heavily on the testing environment. If there's flourescent lights, CRT monitor, and a beat-up old keyboard then I test in the 40's-50's. When I test on new equipment in a modern environment I generally test in the 70's. I was typing at 39wpm in the 3rd grade, on an Apple IIe. Since then i've only moderately improved. I generally catch errors in my head without having to proof-read what's on screen. Unless i'm typing on a messageboard, then it don't not matter. ;)

My typing on QWERTY is decent - around 60-70 WPM.

Dvorak? Not so much. I've got the keys mostly down, but I still have to think about where they are. 20-30ish.

my typing was never the fastest or the most accurate to say myself. 46 words per minute with a 72% accuracy. i tend to think as i type instead of just typing, which slows me down quite a bit in these types of tests and why i couldn't be a court juror or something similar to the type, plus spelling errors.

My brain isnt working this morning :(

I was just testing my typing because everyone says that I type really fast, but I don't think i do.

So I decided to test myself here and I was wondering how fast my fellow MR members type.

Take the test and post what you got.

I just took the test and got 51 WPM with 98% accuracy.
