It still is on phones.4G LTE is all any phone needs and has better coverage. 5G on phones is the tech weenies' wet dream standing on a corner and comparing download speeds that they have no use case for.

Sigh once lte is sunset you can run 5G at the same frequencies and hsve the same coversge with slightly better trughåut due to a more eficieny encoding at the rf level, coverege in not a function of the generation of mobile network you are rynning its a fuction of the carrier freqency as is building penetration etc it's all limited by physics

No offense but I would like to see some real world tests from people who are not testing it in a city, while standing still.

The only way you haveof possebly getting consistent signal and cell load for multiple tests ( soyou can gat an average that us not pure crap). It's kind of hard to getba consistan or even semi consistent environment when movingas you need to take traffic( on the road) into consideration as well. I'm not shor if it can be done, so what is a tester todo?

Congratulations, Apple! It's been a mountain to climb, but to achieve comparable speeds with 25% more power efficiency than the gold standard is impressive. With C2, Apple should be on par with Qualcomm.

BTW, I wonder how much of this development occurred with on-site work as opposed to working from home....

Well obviously all the testing, before regulatory aproval)hasd to be in a lb that is in efect a feridaycage as not to dissrupt production networks, so could not be none from home ( well long running testsr might be monitored remotly but you know what I mean. Cirqit designs etc might ( if apple allowed it) as wall be done at home

Samsung, Huawei and Mediatek make 5g cell modems as well.

I thought its an impossible task as Intel with all its glory couldn't create a competing modem to Qualcomm's so they sold their modem unit to Apple
