I'm assuming you are using a 56k modem - if you are, and it's V.92 compatible, try switching to V.90 mode to see if you get a better connection. If that doesn't help, then you've probably either got interference somewhere in your phone lines, or generally bad phone service. Check with your telephone provider about the interference if you think this may be the cause of slow dial-up connections. You should be getting connection speeds at around 56000 bps.jknight8907 said:Waaaaaay toooo slllll oooooo wwwwww.

56k (dial-up, duh!)
512k (blueyonder cable)
1mb (blueyonder cable)
2mb (blueyonder cable)
3mb (blueyonder cable)
Even when at friends on 512k ADSL downloading seems very slow, I could never use dial-up again!
Well I'm on 4mbit down, 384k up, currently £50p/m. But Telewest have been great, I've had two free major speed bumps in the last year, and I expect that to keep on going ow that ADSL is getting faster.Platform said:How much do you pay for your line![]()
