I plead the 5th...lol. Actually a lot of it is from the old Napster days, before the big crackdown and a lot of it is CDs I've imported in. It's weird how quickly it adds up. Now I'm addicted to the itunes store. I'm trying to limit myself to $30 a month for apps and music😱

I don't have an iPhone yet but I've been preparing.
My iTunes folder is 15.3 GB in size and has 2,314 files in it.
12.8 GB are apps (1,515 total).
331 MB are music files (64 total).
1.94 GB are TV shows/movies (3 total).

All my music is in AAC format. Two movies because I'm playing them on my friend's TV for her birthday party this weekend (using my iPads' VGA adapter). One movie still needs to be synced. All my photos in iPhoto. I tried to reduce my apps but I have ~500 in iTunes but they're iPad and iPhone apps.

I didn't realize iTunes threw the TV shows/movies folder in with the music folder. Revised stats are:
331 MB are music files (64 total).
1.94 GB are TV shows/movies (3 total).
I've only spent around $30 for apps. The rest were free.
right now i have 24.4Gb free out of 29.3gb on my 3gs... still waiting on iphone 4 *sighs* and i also have over 150gbs of music 😀

The memory hog are TV shows in HD. I have 5 episodes from 4 different shows. Two of them are over 40+ min and the rest is 20+ min. That is only 2.5 hours of entertainment. Those 5 episodes took out over 5GB. My music only took out about 2GB. I can't imagine myself carrying HD movies on this thing.
