Unfortunately the desk charger I have been using won't work with that case though. So annoying. Thanks for that information. I feel pretty comfortable with that combination of phone and case.

I can confirm that cleaning with either a microfiber cloth and water or a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol does not clean the ring off. It is a permanent change.Have you guys tripped wiping it off? I think it should work on the silicones at least.
Well if the damage was inflicted by Apples own accessory and wasn’t due to mis-treatment or abuse or incorrect usage then Apple don’t have a leg to stand on especially if you can prove that it devalues the phoneIn my opinion if a combination of Apple products causes a change to the phone that kind of damage would not be a problem affecting a return under the AUP. But that's just my opinion. I think Apple would receive a lot of flak of the gave us a problem with this.
It shouldn’t as it was apples equipment in the first place that caused the damageIf you are leasing your phone on the AUP how will the ring on the phone affect your return?
Yep. Was just searching this because I knew this was a problem with the MagSafe charger. But, I don’t use wireless I just got myself a MagSafe wallet. It not the Apple wallet but it has the MagSafe ring shape and everything. Magnets a magnet. But I also started to notice the ring showing on my silicone case. So assumingly this has nothing to do with the charger getting hot around the ring which is what I originally thought, but literally just magnets themselves. Not sure what it does exactly. If the magnets do something to the surface material or if after using it, it pulls the magnet forwards? But that doesn’t make much sense since either since it is being pulled towards the phone as well and it’s not raised or anything. Doesn’t wipe away. Since I planed always use a wallet it not a huge deal. But defiantly an unforeseen consequence by Apple. Again, not knowing what it actually is, I am not sure how they can prevent it. It does appare pretty faint so far using the wallet. But it’s only been about a day with it on. I had to turn the contrast up almost all the way to try and make it easier to see in the photo.I've used the Kumquat silicone case with the MagSafe charger for a little over a month and unfortunately I do have the dreaded ring mark. I plan on buying a few new Apple silicone cases, but I will not be using the MagSafe charger with them. These cases are too expensive to be damaged like this in such a short period of time.
It looks even worse in daylight.

How has everyone else's cases fared?
Unfortunately it looks like your third party wallet is the culprit to blame. The magnets are completely protruding. It would surprise me if it didn’t leave a mark. The oem Apple wallet is completely flush. If you decide to get a new case I would highly recommend buying the the real wallet. It’s what I have. So far it hasn’t left any markings.Yep. I heard and read that the Apple MagSafe cases by their self cause the ring on the back of the iPhone glass. It also burns the ring into the back of the phone it's self.
This is why I haven't purchased the Magsafe charger.
it doesn't remain it's easy to just wipe off any mark.same with cases I've had no real issues removing any marksI heard and read that the Apple MagSafe cases by their self cause the ring on the back of the iPhone glass.
i noticed the ring on the back of the iphone, on the glass, too. i wiped it off, but i am unsure if it will stick after a while.
i had the saddle brown leather case on it while charging. i used a bit of water and soap to wipe off the ring. Was the ring on the phone a result of using the MagSafe charger or just from a case that is MagSafe compatable with the magnets?
Does the new belkin 3 in 1 wireless charger with MagSafe leave marks as well?

I got my ring protectors in and they seem nice so far. Ive also been using a glass rear screen protector and haven’t noticed any permanent marks using MagSafe for 3 weeks straight now.I find that putting something such as a small cut out from a face mask between the magsafe charger and back of the case doesn’t create an imprint at all So it’s definitely the contact between the charger and phone that creates the imprint
I think that rear glass screen protector will be all you need to stop any imprintI got my ring protectors in and they seem nice so far. Ive also been using a glass rear screen protector and haven’t noticed any permanent marks using MagSafe for 3 weeks straight now.
this is the rear screen protector
Apple MagSafe charger is poorly designed, the exposed steel ring will leave marks very easily, I've got the belkin 3-1 MagSafe charger, the puck is covered in rubber, had It for just under a year, yet to see any marks on my cases. ? highly recommend it.Yep.
