I’m on a super extended vacation due to this corona virus restricting flights home, and I’m struggling hard with 128gb, my iCloud storage is near useless since it eats up my prepaid data, right now I’m able to make due thanks to google photo where I can choose what to upload and what to delete desperately.

Just fine. I have unlimited data so I don’t download music. I have 14 games and 53 apps and have 38.7gb left. More than enough if I were to be in a situation where I don’t have data and need to download a movie or album. Everything else goes on the cloud.

I have a 64gb model...I have 41 GB's available...I use iCould for my pictures...not a big person on videos, I have lots of apps, and use Apple Music...no longer need to download music to my phone.

I have a 64gb model with 200gb iCloud, all my music is on a Sony Walkman NW45 with a 128gb SD card (wich later i will upgrade to 200gb), so as you can see my problem here is music, offloading it to another device left me with enough storage in a 64gb model, the other thing that eats a lot of space is the games, if i remove all the games on the phone it would go some 10gb down in storage, currently i'm at 54gb

64GB model 11 Pro here as well. I still have 36GB available, but I use iCloud storage for all of my images, and stream music and videos. The storage works well enough for me that I haven't run into any storage related issues.

Typically if I'm traveling, I will locally store music on my iPhone and movies/TV shows on my IPP with still a good amount of storage to spare.

Used 64GB on my 11 & XR. Still have 47GB left. I just use Google Drive. 200GB for $3/month. That syncs it between my iPhone & PC.

I love my 64gb 11 pro max. I don't know how it could get better. space has never been an issue for me. I keep most of my data in the cloud as insecure as that may be.

All my photos and videos are stored in iCloud. Yet, 64GB isn't enough for me, despite that I have zero movies and only 30 songs downloaded. The reason 64GB isn't enough for me is because I have over 300 apps and games combined (not including my offloaded apps). That totals to 50GB already used. Plus the OS takes 13GB. I have over 3000 thumbnails of all my photos (including videos), so an extra 1GB there. An extra 870MB is "On My iPhone", plus around 130MB of "Documents & Data" in my 50+ offloaded apps, so another 1GB there! That's 65GB used of the 256GB in my iPhone 11 Pro.
Even with the cloud, 64GB isn't enough for me. That's why I have the 256GB iPhone 11 Pro instead of the 64GB iPhone 11 Pro.

I have a 256GB Xs Max and it isn't enough for me so I'll go for the 512GB next time. My use case is the exception perhaps - I listen to tons of live music that is downloaded to my computer and I like to have as much of it on my phone as I can so it's always available.

How many apps and games, combined, do you have on your iPhone?
(To check it, go to Settings. Then tap General. Then tap About. On the row of the word "Applications", you'll see how many apps and games, combined, you have. Reply to this by typing the number next to "Applications" in the About section of the settings.)

After a recent trimming, I've got my total Apps down to 203.

Hi, I about to upgrade from 5s 16 gigs (it's abt time huh) to 11 pro, i've been using 5s in the last 5 years or so and I managed to survive by uploading pics to pc. I am not a gamer and probably wont be, the quantity of pics is depending on the outcomes 11 pro can offer, maybe one start to shoot like an idiot when having good asset, but videos i dont think so..I have icloud for 200 gig, but the main factor is that i want a phone for longer period (at least 3 years or even more, dont wanna change frequently at all)...so 64 or 256 or wait for the 12 with hopefully 128 option? (the difference is quite significant amount wise between 64 and 256)

Respect to those who can manage 64 gb storage.

I got my iPhone 11 yesterday and it is already at 100gb of usage. And this is without any music or videos.
What do you put on your iPhone?
  • Grosses (144's) of apps/games?
  • Lots of movies downloaded?
  • Your entire photo library on the iPhone?

tip if you have mp3 music use google drive and a app called goplayer to stream from your google drive , i own 64gb iphone x got it really cheap 150 bucks what i did was pay icloud 200gb and for free google drive 15gb put all my music 13gb worth on it and it works well. also 3000 photos only 50gb out of 200gb

I don’t really get why so many download all their iTunes content on the phone. Unless you travel a lot is really needed? Just wasting storage.

I'd need several terabytes more if I actually want to download all my iTunes content to my iOS devices.

Also, one-time storage costs (or annual/biennial or longer) can be cheaper than paying an ongoing cost for unlimited, high speed cellular data.

No issues with 64GB for me. I also pay monthly for extra iCloud storage etc so everything backs up properly. No music on my phone as I use Apple Music so I still have 29.4GB Storage left on my iPhone 11 Pro max

I ended up selling my 64 as I end up with 4gb left and now have got another 512Gb to go with my personal one.

I have 128 gb, and am not even using 32. However, I don't load things like movies onto my devices. I do keep a fair amount of photos/videos in between uploading them to my iMac, and I have a good many apps, but I have not made a dent in my storage. I ordered an SE to try out, and only got 64gb.

I bought the 64gb pro ma. Prior to purchase, I was using the 64gb 6s plus for 5 years and it was at most half full.
I transferred all data to Pro Max and still have about half left of storage.
It depends if you have unlimited data or around WiFi a lot, which decided that the 64bg was enough. I still use my 6S+ as a storage for movies and connected wife’s Apple account for Apple Music (for offline play).
Another factor was that I don’t think I could make up the cost of selling a 256gb phone in the future than the 64gb.

I have always had the base storage for em every iPhone, I never really stored a lot of media and have always been fine.
I currently have a 64GB 11 Pro, and have 16GB free. I usually get a new phone every year, my oldest son gets my old iPhone every year for Christmas.
So the question is, at how many gigs left, before you start to consider the next storage option? I most likely will upgrade to the middle storage option when the new one comes out.
Just curious on what people think is too little.

64 fine for me

16GB free on my phone - and I run a lot of tweaks and themes

I do have iCloud though for photos and videos. So that may be why it’s fine.

if I delete my games I’ll have over 40GB free

Using iCloud features so 64gb works very well for me.
