I can't wait for iOS 9 to be released. Just downloaded and installed iOS 8.4 on my iPad Air and it stutters as before.

I'm really anxious to find out how iOS 9 is. Yes, it uses Metal for the animations, but even so, most everyone has said iOS 9 is no different with UI performance really, or if anything, it's worse. It still is too early to say anything, but I'm still willing to say that we really are only getting marginal improvements with iOS 9 if there's anything to be said at all.

Oh crap sorry for the double post, meant to hit edit on my last post instead of reply.

And remember, non of this stutter really exists if you have increase contrast turned on. Reduce motion cleans some things up as well.
Lol, guess this explains why I've never experienced any performance slowdowns upgrading from iOS 7 to iOS 8. The initial iOS 7 release had plenty of stutters and performance issues so I just enabled Reduce motion right from the start. Same goes for contrast. :p

I don't have the Air 1, but I have the Mini 2 that has the same specs. I'd say it could be better. When I press the home button from inside an app it'll pause then take me home. Same while launching apps, it'll be laggy. I think it just needs better optimization. But I'm not worried cuz I plan to update to the Air 3 this year :D

Lol I'm planning to upgrade to the Air 3 only because I'm so sick of how stuttery this iPad is. I planned on using this iPad up through its last iOS version but I can't stand it and it's only on its first update.

I'm going to upgrade this year too. iOS 8.4's album view on my iPad 3 is so jerky it gives me a headache when I scroll.

Since iOS 9 is designed to run even on the old 4S-iPad 2 etc I DO hope they will polish the UI to increase speed and fluidity..

otherwise why would they bother working again on those old devices ? Wouldn't be easier for them to say get lost guys and buy a new iPhone 6 / iPad Air 2? iOS 9 have to be better than buggy 7/8

Yeah I have to admit, the mini is terribly un-optimized. It might get fixed in iOS 9 though. Even if it is fixed, I'm still gonna upgrade for the longevity of the full sized iPads. Plus I'd like the full sized screen :)

What does this "reduce motion" option mean?
