I thinks it's OK:

Pros - my iPhones/iPad are recognised and accessed 10 x quicker in the new iTunes 4 than they were before

Cons -

my Smart Label Printer is defunct - I never knew the software was Rosetta based :-(

and my 1Password right click option has disappeared in favour of some new fangled 1Password po-up window which is clunky and awkward unlike the right click option

Other than that, loving the new interface but it'll take some getting used to ....

Runs Smooth

Up date took about 30 minutes, everything running perfect except my Smart Label Printer, but I knew that was going to happen Rosetta and all. I am finding one very important thing...... wait for it!

Safari is really Snappy!

Oh come on, someone had say it.....:p:p

It runs amazing on my Mac Mini (2009 model! Did a clean install, and everything is so much faster! Even with 3GB ram. I expected some of the animations to be choppy, like they were in Snow Leopard, but they are really smooth! And the new scrolling is way better, IMO.

Google Chrome is essentially dead. No gesture support, can't exit fullscreen mode without it dying. Hangs up constantly. But worst of all for me on my 2010 13 inch Air the fan is coming on a ton, whereas on Snow Leopard it was rarely on. Hating the change to Spaces. Absolutely hate that.

Has Lion really had that pronounced an effect on your fan? That is worrying...:( I have a 2010 13" MBA and I'm now considering upgrading to the new generation.

My iMacs Spotlight started indexing like crazy after the Installation was finished.
Appart from that i have no issues since DP4...well maybe some slightly higher energy consumption.

I have to say, the new scrolling doesn't work for me at all, thank goodness for an option to turn it off. It makes sense on a touch screen, not on a touch pad. Plus for anybody that uses Windows as well, it would be fun trying to go back and forth... Don't really understand why they had to enable the "anti-scrollbar" scroll method by default.

I also miss Expose - Mission Control is horribly cluttered, and not useful at all to me. Just one big mess.

Lunchpad would be nice if it worked well. Unfortunately my default install has dups all over the place, with no easy ability to remove apps from the Lunchpad. It also seems a bit redundant to me - do I use Dashboard or Lunchpad? Why are both shown on the screen? etc.

All in all, not digging the iOS-ification of OS X. Seems like a cluttered mess in places, and just doesn't fit well with the rest of the system. I'll give it sometime to try to get used to it, but my hopes aren't high.

Everyone should REALLY give the new scrolling technique a try for a week. Once it clicks, you realize that we've been doing it wrong for years.

Im giving it a go for a few days, see how I get on. I think it may be confusing when I turn my Window's work PC back on.

Everything has been working perfectly, but there's only one thing that annoys me; since I upgraded it, the temperature has increased with about 10 degrees..

Other than that, It has been working great, and I'm very thankful that the download went so smooth.

Hot!

I have 2011 27" iMac with 6970M GPU. Idle GPU temperature is 20 °C higher then on SL. CPU load is 1%. Indexing finished. It causes whole system to completely freeze when I am using it for longer time especially when loading pages with Flash in Safari.

I otherwise really like it, but this issue is ruining it terribly.

Mines running great. Some of the animations were a little jerky at first, but now they have gotten better.

Now just to remember the new gestures...

I'm experiencing a pretty big bug. Not sure if I'm the only one, but I'm unable to mount my bootcamp partition. I've got 100 gigs partitioned (NTFS) for bootcamp and Windows XP, but it won't mount the partition for me. I've tried using first aid and repairing, but it's still unmountable.

Once Spotlight was done indexing, my MBP late '09 model @2.53GHz and 8GB RAM feels much snappier than with SL. So far every program I need for work is working. System feels more responsive and after a bit of customizing preferences here and there it's a whole new experience. I actually like full-screen Apps paired with the new Exposure, i.e. Mission Control. Fine, it takes like an eternity to boot, but who reboots a Unix system anyways?

Two cons: iTunes widget gone and clamshell mode not working with open lid.

Glad I did the upgrade!

Completely agree! been using GM, it took me a few days but it's sooooo much more natural now! Never going back :)

You think it would be idiotic to upgrade to Lion with only 2GB of RAM? Someone earlier said it ran great on only 3 gigs... a new computer isn't really an option for me (ever, until this one is a hopeless case, which doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon! :D). Of course, once I get some spare cash (still can't find 4GB of RAM for less than $60...) I'll upgrade the RAM, but until then what would be your advice: go for it, or hold off?

Issue is no keyboard events will be sent to any application. However, I can see that the OS is still getting those events, because certain system-level key combos work (e.g. Opt+arrow to switch between spaces) and the Keyboard Viewer is still registering all keypresses. Despite this, no application (including the Finder and the password-entry box to unlock the screensaver) is getting any keyboard input.

no issues thus far...i have my SMC control running, not noticing any change in temps or fan sound. I have an aluminum unibody macbook. Runs like a champ! Smooth as can be.

Just go for it, Lion runs great for me on 3GB of ram. However, that could be because I did a clean install. Is a clean install an option for you?

It's better than Snow Leopard for sure

but it's not that stunning...

Things I like:
1. mission control, i found it's very helpful in finding some overlapped on-going items. It's like combination of expose and space.
2. New Mail: it's fresh and new and much better than old one. It gives me a clearer view to check emails out (I have 6 email boxes)
3. All embedded software like Safari, iCal, etc. run smoothly and glossily.
4. Start up and shut down a bit faster than Snow Leo

Downside:
1. Don't feel it's a major innovation overall. To me, majority of those 250 new features are a bit cheesy...like 1 finger swipe to go back in Safari and 2 fingers swipe to switch between programs...

I'll give it 80 our of 100. It's easy to use if you are not quite familiar with Mac OS X. In my point of view, Lion might be the last version of OS X. Apple has pushed all they can to the end...next OS might be a real merge of iOS and OS X series.

I have one issue.... help?

I was using the app "dashboard killer" in snow leopard to disable my dashboard and save a little ram on my mac air, recently I've kinda missed the dashboard and always like the ability to switch back and forth. now with the new lion update, ppc apps are not supported anymore apparently. my problem is, I had my dashboard disabled and it never came back after i updated :( and now I can't use dashboard killer to turn it back on. has anyone else had this problem, or might suggest a solution?

I had it disabled to, here is the fix:

Start the Terminal. (it can be found in the Utilities folder)
Enter this command:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO

And then this one:
killall Dock

Its running great on my i7 iMac.

My only real down side is I had to switch from Firefox to Safari due to Firefox no longer has gesture support. (can't go back and forward by swiping) I kinda knew I was gonna have to switch to safari though. So fax I am very pleased with how good safari is doing though. I just wish you could change the look of it.

I am really liking the mission control. More so the multiple desktops thing actually. Very nice to have spottily open on its own and swipe over to change quick if needed.
