Just as buggy as before but the battery life has improved. I'll take that.

Not that I argue with iOS 8 being buggy, but what in particular are you still experiencing?

You're my 6+ 8.2 guinea pig :D

only considering migrating from 8.1.1 if JB drops. May still skip it and wait for 8.3 JB if its too much of a gamble since I likely won't be getting the watch.

Safari issues, copy/paste issues, occasional screen freezing, landscape/portrait issues, general hiccups here and there.
It's no better than any other release of iOS8 for me, but on the plus side at least battery life has improved on 8.1.2 and 8.1.3

----------

Any progress on that plan we put together to try and isolate the problems you've been having?

I tried it last night on a clean install. I didn't sign into iCloud and I didn't restore any backups. Still just as buggy but the battery life was much improved so I installed my iCloud backup whilst I was sleeping. It aborted due to App Store downloads being down, so I need to do it again tonight. Once everything is loaded up I'm going to export some of my docs and files, then do a clean install and start afresh. Will see how things pan out after that...

i have had my ip6+ running on the new iOS and have yet to charge my phone after 24 hours. its down to 23% now. however the battery usage tell me 10 hours of usage since i just use the phone for texts, checking maps etc so not full on usage just yet.

My battery life is much improved over 8.1.2 and especially 8.1.3
Thank goodness! My 6+ is back to having the battery life it had out of the box. Sure it's still buggy but 8.2 is definitely an improvement.

So far for me, my battery is doing a lot better on 8.2 on my iPhone 6. I'm currently at 62% and 4 hrs 11 mins of use, 12 hrs 14 mins of standby. This is a lot more than I've ever seen so far on this phone with any OS.

Is that with WIFI or 4G?

Mine has gotten worse.

6+ battery life on 8.2 has been good here.

Both. I was out and about all day yesterday. The only thing I did out of the ordinary was turn off motion tracking in the settings menu since I never use health kit anyways. That seems to have made a huge difference so far. My phone usually dies around this time but I still have 28% left.

Can you post a screenshot of your usage? Also, please if you can include settings...

Same here 4hrs 11min used and 1 day 11hrs stdby and 51% remaining. iP6. Pleased so far with the update overall.

The one thing I changed that I never thought about before was turning off motion tracking. That seems to have helped a lot.

Are you talking about the motion calibration in system services or the motion and fitness>fitness tracking?

I'm holding off for a couple of days until I hear some feedback on 8.2 and so far it seems to be good/no worse but how about battery life? I'm still on 8.1.2 because my battery life took a hit on 8.1.3

It's terrible, the worst it has ever been, by far. I lost about 8-10 hours of usage.

Just searching this website for battery threads is depressing, what will it be like in 10-20 years. You can make a Wikipedia style website just using battery threads made in this forum.

So you are down to like an hour of usage suddenly?

Yeah it's crazy, I just look at my iPhone 6 and it's empty. I'm obviously joking because these threads are ridiculous :D

My battery life is ok with 8.2 but I have experienced updates in the past which drained it faster. Clean installs etc made no difference. So whilst it's true that some people experience battery drain with every update and that their own installation/settings are to blame, sometimes an update really can mess with battery life despite all reasonable precautions being taken. Therefore it isn't crazy to be wary of poor battery life when installing an iOS update. For instance, I did nothing differently this time and yet my battery life is improved over 8.1.2 and especially 8.1.3

Yeah, but you have to admit it's the same threads every time there is an update. If you search iPhone battery life you get 39 pages full of threads.
I have experienced it before where I lost about 1 hour usage with 8.1.2 until 8.1.3, contrary to people for example who say that it was 8.1.3 that messed up battery life.
People are literally asking about battery life 1 hour after release, it's a joke. Also you have to use iOS for a few days for it to propely settle and index. Battery life always looks like it sucks after every update for the first few days. When I first installed 8.2 (or other updates) the first few charging cycles I barely got 6-7 hours usage but its now back to normal.

I have both turned off actually. But the one I recently turned off was the fitness tracking. I don't need the phone constantly tracking my footsteps and stuff during the day. Seemed like a waste of processor time and battery life.

I have all system services switched off in the location settings.

I'm still having a terrible battery life in 8.2....so finally I am restoring the phone via itunes and re-installing 8.2.

Lets hope this fixes the bad battery issue for me
