I have 3.6 GB of music (about 1k songs) so the space is not an issue for me. If I had more space I'd keep all my video on there as well, but honestly, do I need to have Braveheart with me at all times?

Just fine i have a 160 gb Classic when it doesnt do the job but i think 8 gb is plenty

Absolutely fine thanks.

The first thing I do on a morning is reach over and greet my iPhone, then and only after I admire how beautiful it is the wife get's a kiss ;)

I can only say I wish my wife gave me 8Gb of bed space when I needed it !

8 GB has been fine, but I wouldn't complain if I had 16 GB. I've got 3.35 GB of music (658 songs), 3 full length movies, about 300 MB of photos (which is a lot considering that the iPhone compresses the images) and I've still got about 2 GB left. At one point, I had about the same amount of music and all 10 episodes of Band of Brothers on my iPhone, and I still had a few hundred MB left. 8 GB means that you have to think about which songs, photos and movies you really want to carry around, but it's not that bad at all.

You all suck

I have a 4 GB iPhone and I hold 776 songs and 10 music videos. This is 2.2 days of listening coming in at 3.51 GB. Also 148 of my songs are encoded between 192 and 320 KBPS.

Anyone who says that an 8 GB iphone cannot replace an ipod for certain activities is full of ****. I got my iPod stolen in hawaii three quarters of a year ago and then replaced it with a 2gb minisd audiovox smt5600. Then I adopted 1 month after iphone was released.

It is all the ipod I need until iphone generation three.

(oh yes I would like to add that I have a library of nearly 9000 songs = 72 GB of tunes.)

I do intent on getting an iPhone for this Christmas despite the 3G news. I'm curious about the HD space, though. How quickly does this fill up for you guys?
It just seems like its so small,
How quickly? Instantly. The moment you choose to sync 7.xx worth of data.

Same speed with which an 80 gig iPhone would be.......although it would be WAY more useful.

The space is just enough to let them call it an iPod.

but I guess it IS A PHONE so I can't expect it to store everything...

What does that have to do with anything? Its a DEVICE, not a phone. It can make telephone calls, thats one of its 16 apps.

But its not a phone.

I am very pleased. I always have 40 music videos and then fill the difference with music. It keeps me surprised for a few weeks of commuting.
