I had a 42mm SS classic buckle watch but I returned it back for a number of reasons, the main being the sapphire screen didn't work as it should and therefore I'm debating whether to get a sport model. How is the sport band to wear every day, is it comfy or does it get irritating and rub?

Any answers would be appreciated,
Thanks.

I've been wearing the black sport band daily for close to three weeks now. No issues, it's been quite comfortable, no irritation at all.

What do you mean by the sapphire screen not working as it should?

Well, technically it's not the sapphire screen but the coating on top of it scratched (the sapphire screen was fine) but it looks like the sapphire screen is scratched therefore making having a sapphire screen completely useless and for £600, it was not worth the premium.

I've heard the black sport is a bit of a lint magnet. I have one ready for when my sport with green band arrives, whenever that is.

I wear mine everyday. Very comfortable, can hardly feel your wearing it. Had absolutely no irritation issues, doesn't collect dirt, still looks pristine. All in all, I'm very impressed.

The white sport band is my only strap. I've been wearing it every day for 2.5 weeks and love it!

I started off with a BCB and switched to the sport band. Extremely happy with the comfort level on the SB. Also, the band tends to hold the watch securely where you want it. With the BCB, the watch body kept slipping toward the outside of my wrist. I hear that's common with leather straps.

I really like my sports band. I also have a classic buckle, but I would say the sports is my favourite.

I have the white sport band, I have worn it every day since April 26. Once it got dirty from gardening and I washed it in Dawn and water. Came out spotless. Then I got a high staining ink on it. I thought that was The End but I tried scrubbing it with a Mr. Clean White Eraser and it looked like new. I think it is meant not to absorb staining material. It looks great.

Black Sport Band here. Used daily for one week so far. Got it wet and a little dirty at times. I washed it in water and mild soap and it looks brand new again. No peeling and no wear except for minor shininess at the connection points (hidden when you wear it). Totally comfortable and very soft. For a sport band, it's high quality. I can see why it's an option on the Edition.

Now I happen to be returning my SGS with BSB for an SS with Leather Loop. I liked the Apple Watch so much that I decided I wanted a higher end version. I plan to wear the LL most days but will definitely be picking up a BSB for it.

BSB is brilliant. It's supplanted my Milanese as daily driver. Comfortable and cool looking. Does not attract lint, dirt, elves, nazis or gluten. Highly recommend and worth its ridiculous price tag.

SG with black sport band here. Love it! Very comfortable and IMHO the black/black combo is plenty formal enough for anywhere.

Now, just for fairness while waiting for the SG which was a long time I got my hands on a blue sports model. The little nickel button at the closure did cause an allergic reaction which I fixed with a piece of scotch tape. The black sport with black hardware does not react on my arm so I am doubly happy about it.

Yea I thought I would need to get a leather loop for work but my SG w/ BSB looks fine. Since I go to gym at work and run at home, I don't want to be carrying a set of bands with me just to work out.

Here's a candid shot of me wearing it with my work attire on the subway.

Looks good. The sport band is flat so IMO the black one looks good for sport and professional.

Love my BSB that came with my 42 SS. Been wearing it every day and it feels great and still looks like new.

I love the sport band so much that today I popped into an Apple Store and picked up a Blue one! The black is great, but I kind of want to mix it up a bit...

I plan on getting a Milanese loop for when I need to wear a suit for work... but the (Black)SB had been holding its own in that department as well. Really looks great with any attire.

I have a Milanese Loop and a White Sport band.
Both are super comfortable and I alternate wearing them. If I didn't have the loop, I definitely wouldn't mind wearing the sport band daily and as long as you don't get bright green or something like that, you'll be able to wear it with whatever.

I've had a SS 38 mm BSB for about 10 days now and ithe band has exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable and looks great.

Very comfortable!

after just a couple days, I forget that I'm wearing it now.
Considering this is my fist watch in many years too
Quite happy

The WSB I have is fine with my 42mm SS. I'm just still adjusting to wearing something on my wrist for almost the first time in a decade, discounting the Fitbit experiment a couple of years ago. No irritation so far, but it did take months for the Fitbit to do that. When it's at all warmer than I like it, it does feel a little sweaty. But I think that's a combination of just me and just reality.

I liked the feel of the leather loop when I tried it on, and I like the look but haven't tried on a Milanese loop. I knew I would need the sport band whenever I did active stuff, like I did my first day mowing the lawn outside. Also, THE LITTLE METAL KNOB KIND OF ANNOYS ME A LITTLE BIT WHEN I PUT MY WRIST ON A DESK OR MY MACBOOK AND IT GOES KA-THUNK. Yeah, that's a little minor issue. But overall, not bad.

The coating wears off over time - it's just an initial 'nice to have'. Lots of high end watchs have a coating on the outside - for example the omega ceramic planet ocean (retail $4500) has an anti reflective coating on the internal and external side of the crystal. This coating, being softer than sapphire, can show minor scratches in certain lighting conditions - are you saying the likes of Omega, Breitling etc are also wrong to carry out this fairly standard practice?
