I guess I am gonna wait a few more weeks, perhaps a new "batch" will show some improvement. Thanks for the replies.

Bought mine from Apple at Cribbs Causeway last earlier this week.

No issues to report. Screen seems exactly the same as my previous iPad 1.

Backlight bleeding

Mine has the same issue, yellow spots of light. It is mostly visible around the edges of the iPad, and can only be seen in a black background, with 100% brightness on and low-lit environment.

Chances are that the replacement iPad will have the same issue, as Apple clearly hasn't thought this through properly, so don't waste your time trying to get a replacement, otherwise you would have to wait a good couple of weeks, but maybe if you're lucky you can get one without the same issue.

Your saying if you look for problems you WILL FIND THEM, so how is it yours is flawless?

Pic in a dark room at 100% or it's not true. They ALL have the issue.

there's mine, flawless, posted it in one of the other threads where someone did not believe that there was an iPad 2 that didn't have the issue. 100% brightness in pitch black room

Looks great! Your taste in comedy leaves a lot to be desired though! Smithy? Pah!

it was hilarious!! plus that's not the only thing i have, just the only thing i had copied to my ipad at that point.

Does cordon have a stand up or something? In the us as an expat..it's tough to keep up on things never aired here..

Screen looks great too!

nah he's done some smithy sketches for comic relief and that, they're on youtube. theres one where he speaks to the england squad, one where he is at BBC's sports personality of the year and the more recent one was organising comic relief

Looks great!

Looks great? There's light bleed on the bottom right corner, and all across the bottom. Granted, it's not bad at all, but this guy has been making claims his iP2, is "flawless". We aren't sure if he really turned his brightness all the way up, either. To some degree, they all have a bit of bleed.

dude, you're seeing things, there's no bleed where you say and i had put it up to 100% and that room was pretty much pitch black too, so that's not even in normal use. you're in such denial! i'm not wasting anymore time in these threads as even with evidence, people are determined not to believe that some are fine!

Is dude, a term widely used in the UK? I'm sorry, dude. You have the most wonderful iPad that has been, or ever will be manufactured.

I know what's going on here: it's an iPad 1, as no iPad 2's are perfect. JK.

Want to sell it to me?

Look for problems and you'll find them. Use the device as you would every day and you won't find them.

Everyone in the light bleeding thread is going into a dark room and turning up the brightness to max. Who uses an iPad like that?

FWIW, my screen is flawless.

A lot of people also use their iPads at 50% or lower brightness in a fully lit room and can see the light leak "blobs" on their screen. Your screen is flawless. Of course it is.

Actually your photo is misleading as it is not properly exposed. If you had your screen at 100% brightness, it would not be pitch black as it appears in the photo. Once I properly adjust the exposure in Photoshop using the photo that you posted, the light bleed along the bottom and right side is fairly obvious. One spot is right above what I presume to be the Home button, the other is just a little over halfway up the right side.

that was brightness on 100% in a dark room, and to the naked eye there is no bleed. so basically you're saying once you PHOTOSHOP it, you can see a bleed. i did not know that people live deep underground and have photoshop built into their eyes so they can see a bleed........... Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight lol.

simply put, there is no noticeable light bleed to the human eye in any condition at the standard 50% brightness. no1 in their right mind would be running at 100% as it's simply impractical.

that said, i'm leaving this thread as it's just full of naysayers who will try and poke holes in anyone who has a decent working iPad 2. really they need to get a life.

You know... i'm beginning to think that it is a consistent defect.
mine bleeds in that same spot to the left of the home button.
