How is your naked iPhone 4 doing?

My was doing great until I asked my wife to "bring me my phone" the other day. I've never used a case on any of my iPhones (and I've had ever model) well she dropped it while bringing it to me. Nothing major happened, but we do have hardwood floors in our house and it slide on the front face of the phone and was left with one scratch right across the front facing camera. :(

Now I'm starting to think I should get something for it. . .Lesson learned, I can't always be sure that I will be the only one handling my iPhone.

loooool I saw someone outside of a mall let someone borrow their iPhone 4 for something and they had butterfingers and it fell on the blacktop and shattered both the front and back.

My iPhone 4 has been naked since the day I got it (July 2010) and it doesn't have a single scratch on its glass. Recently I started using a clear glass back so the original back is in a box somewhere, but in the many months that it was used it didn't get a single scratch either.
The funny thing is that the steel band has scratches on it. It seems that the steel scratches more readily than the glass...
I wouldn't say I'm particularly careful. I just don't drop it I suppose
It also goes into its own pocket at all times.
I really hate screen protectors because they change the feel of the screen under your finger and cases just add bulk and most wont even save your phone if you drop it from a reasonable height.

I keep it out of the case when I'm home or in a "safe" place. But if I'm at practice (I row...yeah), at school, in a busy area in gets in a case. I usually carry the case and the phone with me...I know weird;):p

Lol. I'm the same exact way.

No case on my iPhone, no scratches whatsoever.

I had mine out for about four weeks. After that, I had to get a case. I think the biggest thing for me is keeping my car keys in the same pocket as my phone. With a case I really don't have to worry about it, but without one, I have to put my keys and phone in different pockets.

kept invisible shield on it up until 2-3 months ago and it's been naked ever since...few hairline scratches here and there, nothing big.
nothing beats a naked phone

Got mine launch day, never used a case, and today it's in damn near perfect condition. Very minor scuff on metal on bottom left corner, otherwise nothing to speak of. The glass is perfect still. For what it's worth, I've dropped mine a lot in my room (carpeted), a couple times in the bathroom onto tile, and once in a parking lot (from about waist high, so like 3-4 feet). Also, I constantly keep it in my left pocket with a pair of ear buds, occasionally putting keys in there if my right hand is full or the pocket is full.

I have one long scratch going from edge to edge on my screen.

I went from otterbox defender, to a Candyshell with a ghost armor protector, to naked and even with the scratch I much prefer naked. I would have kept the screen protector on but when I applied a vinyl front it tore it right off.

+1 to the camp that do not use any protection.

I had it for 6+ months, just 2 minor scratch from the 1st week cuz I accidentally put keys in the same pocket. Also have dropped it from 3-4 ft height onto hard floor or even marble floor, not a problem.

The way I see it, which most probably find weird, is that:
You use a case to protect the phone so it's in perfect condition. However, with a case on, does it matter whether the phone underneath is perfect or not?
Instead of protecting it with case since day 1, I rather use it naked, so i enjoy it more. then when it gets sracthed and beat, if i can't stand it, I will put a case on it, it would be no different than having a case since the beginning, right?

The only benefit of using a case, is that if you resell the phone you can get little more money for it. But come on, that's not remotely rewarding enough for me to put an ugly case over it.

My iP4 is very shy and asked for a cover. Since apple was so nice to give us one for free I still have a Griffin bumper which keeps my shy phone covered and in nice condition. On the glas is some anti-glare foile which adds some amor too the front glas. Have it often in the pocket with some keys. No trouble or bad feeling yet.
