Cracked my screen today. It slipped out of my pocket while I was getting in the car. I was gonna exchange for a 32gig before my 30 days was up but I guess I'm out of luck now. Gonna be a long 2 years. :(

I couldn't keep it like that. I'd take it into apple and maybe you will get some sympathy. And even if not, I'd have to pay the replacement fee. Cracks, no matter how small make my OCD go into overdrive.

I hate you! I just spit coffee all over my computer screen. Hilarious!

Lol..Sorry about that!

But really..."I dropped my phone on my carpet, and it hit a rock"

Is mine naked if Im getting a Spigen Glass.t on it? Tempered glass. Lovely.

Waiting for it!!!! besides, im gonna have sum prots on the back. But hey, its still gonna be naked.

I haven't gotten new iPhone yet, but wife had a baby yesterday. As I was holding him I noticed a 1 millimeter birthmark behind his left ear. I immediately found doctor and demanded a refund. No way I could live with baby knowing it was there.

Hahah, good one.

I gave my launch day black to my three year old with the headphones still plugged in.. Upon hearing a strange noise I looked up and he was dragging it around a hardwood floor like a puppy on a leash (I'm not advocating puppy dragging). No scuffs, scratches, dings, nicks, chips, etc.

you should work for ifixit

I paid full price for mine so I think being a little neurotic is justified. Ensuring it stays in mint condition before I get my case will help the phone keep its value. I plan on reselling it next year to upgrade.

what case did you get?

Still perfect, in my pocket all the time if not in use. Am very careful though, as in am not doing multiple activities at the same (aka not multi-tasking) when am holding it. I've dropped all my other iPhones several times but none of them broke and they all still work. So hopefully, no scratch and no drop for this in the next 6 months at least, lol. *Hoping for never on the drop, scratch is inevitable with naked, can live with that*

Got an xtremeguard I picked up for like $1 on the back now. I love the look and feel. Still no scuffs or scratches on edges

Still perfect. Two foot drop onto wood with zero effect. The user that mentioned the lint though; my God it gets covered in dust and lint!

Have put on a SGP screen protector and left the back plastic on until my case comes. Thus far, flawless from the 21st.

My black iphone is holding up just fine naked. No scuffs or scratches. I on the other hand am not holding up as well with the phone naked. I like to have it covered and safe and have been very nervous while its caseless.

Naked since launch day... and already showing wear... Phone hasn't been dropped or slid purposely.. Usually is sitting on my desk at work (non-metal)...

Thank you for the picture, and if this the fate of the iPhone 5 back plate then the raw aluminum looks a lot better than the black one. This simply looks like slightly brushed silver vs the silver that will show through on the black.

My iPhone has been naked since arrival and I have had better luck than when I let mt iPod touch go naked and it shattered all over concrete

I dropped mine over the weekend and got it replaced because it messed up my headphone jack.

Had the black iPhone 5 for a week now, naked. It's still pristine. I'm fairly careful, keeping it alone in a pocket, or in an iPod sock if it's in my purse, but I still use it one-handed while walking my dog and so on. No problems.

Rear protector

Anyone thinking at least get a rear screen protector for the aluminium back of their iPhone 5?

But i hate losing the feel of the aluminium back of it.

I was walking my dog yesterday evening on an unfamiliar street, and I stopped to look at the Maps app to see if the cross street would take me back to my vehicle. Suddenly, the automatic sprinkler system of a resident's home turned on and a powerful spray blasted me in the side of the head. I have no idea how my iPhone didn't get wet, but it didn't. I'm so glad that I wasn't startled into dropping the phone.

iPhone 5 is still naked and looks great, but I ordered Applecare+ when I got home. :D

I actually had one on the back and sides, but I hated the way the sides looked (shiny patches), so I piled them off. Then I pulled the two on the back covering the glass at the top and bottom figuring the glass wouldn't scratch. Then I finally ended up pulling the back off the aluminum. I just hated the shiny look. I'm just going to be careful.

If u put it on any surface and u slide it or it vibrates.... then u might be getting some scuff marks on the aluminum. Not worth it.

Huh?

so you are going to give them hell because you dropped it?

I was in an accident yesterday in my new car. I smashed into another car who had the nerve to make a full stop at a "Stop" sign. I'm calling the dealer and giving him HELL for selling me a freakin' car that get's damaged smashing into another car. And I will DEMAND they replace it with a shiny red one instead of that crappy black one I bought.

Mine is perfect. Ideal setup to go naked.

Back and side Ghost Armor. No case. Applecare+.

I've been all over with my phone including a trip to Vegas. If I didn't scratch that thing in Vegas I'd say it's doing a good job.

Highly recommend this "naked" setup. Perfectly applied Ghost Armor looks fantastic and keeps scratches off to help resale value.

If it can survive Vegas it can survive anything.

Let me get this straight.

I dropped the phone, yep, my fault.

On a carpet. You realise that a carpet is a carpet. From about 1 foot. And the phone scuffed to hell. On a carpet. Woolen little carpet that contained a tiny little stone from the bottom of a shoe. Not my shoe, I remove them at the door

So funny it hurts :D:D:D:D

Is Ghost Armor easy to install?
