Polished Aluminium look!

I don't have an iPhone 5. My daughter does though. You know I think the thing would look good if I just polished the black coating off and had bare aluminium.

For those who decided to have no cases on their iPhone 5.. How is it working out?

Topic title.

Very curious if I should get a case or not z

One small spot wear the black anodizing has worn away on the bevel just below the volume button. It's easy to see if your looking for it but doesn't jump out at you. My phone was clean flawless out of the box. I noticed the worn area around day 4. A week or so latter no additional wear. I take sensible precautions with my iPhone like not putting my keys in the same pocket and not sliding my phone across my desk but I certainly don't baby it. I'm not adverse to a little bit of wear as it does not, in my eyes, detract from the look of the iPhone as much as a case would.

I ordered a case but it won't be here for another month probably... But mine is black and still in 100% perfect condition after receiving it launch day. I planned on going case free but I stumbled across one I thought looked amazing when buying a case for my lady's 4S.

If I ever use a case it has to add to the aesthetics, if it takes anything away then I'm staying with a naked iPhone :)

My black iP5 is dong perfectly fine naked with no scratches or absolutely not showing any wear yet ;)

Naked since launch day... and already showing wear... Phone hasn't been dropped or slid purposely.. Usually is sitting on my desk at work (non-metal)...

It looks as though it has been drawn along a rough surface and got scratched or something. I've yet to receive my white iPhone 5, and I was thinking of not having a case on but now I'm rethinking that after seeing this. Anyone here with a white one and has no case on? Any signs of wear in the back aluminum?

No case,no scratches or scuffs !

Can provide close ups if needed :)

This is my first time going naked with an iPhone. This phone is just way to beautiful to put a case on it. I find that setting it down on the glass is the best idea when putting it down on surfaces. The glass is a lot less more scratch resistance then the aluminum casing on the back and a lot easier to clean without getting scratches and rubbing things in.

Still pristine black iP5, flawless out of the box, totally naked when in use

- try my best touching / holding it with clean & dry hand
- put it inside a cloth pouch when it's in my empty pocket - put it on the top outside of the same pouch in the table / desk when am using it (without holding it)
- slightly bumped it (by accidents) a few times against desks/tables/doors/some hard objects, no damage whatsoever
- I always gently take it out / put it down at the table, screen up
- it's been a week now constantly using it
- In few months, I won't be as careful / gentle as above, lol :D

yeah, that is definitely your fault, but at the same time they do nick really easy. I have seen a few drop videos and one drop on concrete to the black makes it look like hell. With the 4/4S you could drop it and the metal wouldn't look too bad, but with the 5 you are foooked. Granted we all should know and expect this....going naked is a risk I am willing to take.

Yeah the metal stayed metal on the 4/4s...but a drop to the corner would shatter the glass on the front and the back....I would rather a small scratch than broken glass!

I had a white one since launch day and returned it two nights ago. dedicated pocket, placed on soft/softer surfaces, and it still managed to get some nicks and scratches around the bezel...I counted 1 scratch and about 4-5 nicks.

back aluminum was fine though
