i haven’t followed up on Apple in a while but just saw about the 16” and wondered if they’re placing a new screen with smaller bezels on the 15” body if there have been rumblings of them doing the same with the 13”. I’m currently on a windows laptop and hate it.

Not rumored for this year - so my guess would be next year. Not the first the time they introduce the new design early on the large SKUs with the smaller ones to following 6-12 months later.

There haven’t been any specific rumors, but I wouldn’t discount it. A 28W Ice Lake SKU is out and a 14” Ice Lake laptop with LPDDR4 will make a great replacement for the high-end 13” MBP.

That's a good concept. I wouldn't mind seeing the Vega graphics in a 13/14" form. I'd pay the money. I'm currently on a windows laptop and hate windows so thinking of switching to back to mac. I don't really do anything except being your average daily driver which is mostly internet. Youtube, torrents, etc. I travel a ton for work so really I just like a quality machine to use while on the road. Right now I'm in Africa for a month. I don't mind the money but I don't want to spend it just to have an entire new design out a month down the road lol.

With all the rumours swirling around about the 16" MBP coming next month, are there any talks of a 14" MBP? To be specific, the form factor of the current 13" but with smaller bezels and a larger display.

There are 6 serial numbers for MacBooks unaccounted for that were registered for the Eurasian Database a few months back... so if one is the 16’’, what are the other 5?? Maybe 14’’? Maybe Icelake 13’’? Maybe we’ll know in Oct, maybe we won’t?

I doubt October, but I expect we’ll see it by the end of 2020. Wild guess though.

Presumably one is very likely to replace the 4 TB3 13" model eventually. Don't expect it before next year though.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t update both 13’’ and 15’’ at the same time to be honest (at least the 4TB port 13’’)
Both releases are constrained by the availability of CPUs. For the updated 13" we'll most likely see Intel Ice Lake CPUs (including all the benefits), but I doubt the 15" would be released with an older chipset – so Apple might be waiting for availability of Ice Lake across the line.

Not sure how likely the 14” models will come out. But, one thing we know now is there are a few registered numbers that were leaked few months ago. Some of them have not yet revealed the models. Personally, I think it could be either the 13” without touchbar or 14” models. Hopefully, we can see new good things :)

So much has been rumoured about the 16" MBP, but what about a companion smaller 14" MBP?
It would have the same non-butterfly keyboard and slimmer bezels. And maybe even a dedicated GPU?

If the 16" replaces the current 15" model, I could definitely see a 14" model to replace the 13" MBPs.
However, the 16" simply is a higher end Pro model added to the lineup, then perhaps no 14".

With all of the hype over the soon-to-be-released 16-inch MacBook Pro, I've read some people saying that next year we'll see Apple increase the 13-inch to a 14-inch screen. I don't see Apple doing this. There are no rumors of Apple making the 13-inch a 14-inch. I see Apple reducing the footprint and bezels of the 13-inch instead. Just about everyone I talk with that has a 13-inch love the size of their MacBook Pro and love its portability. Of course all that can change with a note from Kuo. I mean who could have imagined a year ago that we'd be seeing a larger 16-inch MacBook Pro?

What do you guys think?

There were rumors of the 14” together with the 16” but they faded away with time as the 16” became more frequent.

i would like a 14” for programming since I do not need the gpu inside the larger models. A size increase with the price being around the same would be the best deal for me

if they do make a 14 inch. i would like to see a decent gpu, but most of all, more available ram and cores. maybe 6 cores. Dell did this recently with a 13 inch. also there are 13 inches with gpus.

If they hooked that up as an option that would be very welcomed even tho its not likely.

PS: Also give us some more damn ports! I dont own a entree level 3 inch, but only have 2 ports and one used for charging..... ya gotta be joking....
