I was just wondering if the buzz and hype matched the response in initial sales demand,
What's the Zoom?
I called this morning at 8am and they agreed to hold one for me. I picked it up at 3pm and they told me they were sold out at 10am.
That was that REALLY bad superhero movie with that tool shed guy! There were not any lines for it.
I stopped at Best Buy tonight and they said they sold out earlier in the day. Who knows how many they had. I played with the display for a while and it does have some good features, but it is a work in progress, IMHO. I think Moto did a good job, but the OS has some noticeable glitches.
People line up for products that aren't from Apple???
Wherever this is....its terrifying and I want to burn it with fire....
Not old enough to remember Zoom on tv?
Most people reported that stores got very limited supply. Most verizon stores only got 10 units and best buys only got enough for preorders.
That was my guess too, not many units at any location.
soon they will be a dime a dozen ... you may even find them thrown in with a tank fill-up of gas or better a large pizza.
That was on public TV when I was growing up
Yep, it was on Channel 2 back in the early 70's I believe.
Zoom, zee double oh em, boston mass oh two one three four
I'm having a flashback....
I don't feel so old anymore remembering Zoom. I was 5 when it started.
Kind of like how some random mattress store near me is offering an iPad with every order?
I tried to learn what it is, but the web site doesn't work.
On the android board, someone posted a code that ordering from Moto website, 200 bucks off. I got one for $651.94, out the door. No contract 3g. A bunch of us got in on that before code stopped working.
Now the wait.
By the way, Zoom -- that's bringing back scary memories
Wait, where is the little blue Lego? (And how does one type the "TM" symbol?)
No thank goodness! It looks like this "Zoom" thing has me beat by roughly 10 years.
I do remember this monstrosity though
See, I was so excited about the XOOM's release that I wasn't aware of the proper way to spell it's clever name.
I am certin that there will be throngs of crowds at Verizon stores to snap up supplies. Poor Apple. At least with the focus squarely on Xoom, the congestion at the Apple Store will ease somewhat.
How about too old to remember Zoom on TV?!?
I think you are referring to the now obsolete iPad1. Do not know why it is obsolete but the price has gone down so bad, even when the new iPad2 is still shackled to iTunes and is limited by it's maker.
