If AW2 is anything like any other new Apple product, it will be thinner, maybe a tad faster, and not much else.

Apple will sell a few AW2s to the must-have-every-version diehard Apple fans, a bunch to the wait-n-seers from this year, and a bunch to the total noobs. AW3 will sell a bunch to the OG owners who skipped AW2, a few to the die hards and latecomers who bought AW2, and a bunch more to the new crop of noobs.
Why do you think so? Do you have any evidence that supports your claim?

I don't think they can do that. They need to add more features. I was thinking about this yesterday, thank in large part to this thread.

Do I want to keep spending 300+ dollars on a watch every few years? I think Apple will need to provide extra features or benefits to future watches.

I agree they will keep adding features, the same as they do with the iPhone, where each year there is more features. But to me, the best feature would be if they could get it thinner and lighter. My wrists are very tiny, so even the 38 feel heavy to me sometimes. And yes, perhaps I could get into better shape, but that's sure not going to happen overnight -- Apple is likely to come out with a thinner watch first!

Really depends on what the next version brings to the table. If it's a significant upgrade in terms of performance, or if it offers a new feature/capability that I really want, I will upgrade sooner. Otherwise I plan to keep my current watch for a couple of years.

can't really vote. I plan to upgrade when apple watch 2 comes out. no one knows if that will be next year or 2-3 years. so neither answer works for me!

As others have said, This will probably not be a product that apple updates every year. If they did I don't think there would be enough improvements year to year to upgrade every time. So if there is a new feature that I really want then yes I would upgrade but otherwise its 2-3 years for me.

I'm not sure how long I'll be keeping my AWS. I imagine I'll keep it at least two years, but I have no idea how it's going to age, so I can't be sure.
