How long are you willing to wait for the iPhone X?

they will have to. not everyone is planning their christmas stuff right now. so even people ordering in late november or early december will have to get it before christmas.
If there’s one thing I think we can all agree on, Apple has been the master at not leaving any money in folks pockets. They have year in and year out found ways to get us to stand in line to spread our money. Granted they do it with products we very much want, but I too always doubted they would miss a Christmas cycle.
The only thing I’m not willing to wait for is food (a line in a restaurant). I don’t even want to be put on a waiting list. Other than that I really don’t mind waiting for anything. My thought is when I get “it”; I get “it”.
I'll wait as long as I need to. I'd rather wait and get the phone I want, then get a different phone because I didn't want to bother waiting. My 6S is working fine yet, so there's no urgent need for a new phone. I will set an alarm to wake up at 1:45 am CST to be ready to preorder at 2:00 am though! I have prepared myself that it could be close to Christmas before receiving, but hoping for Nov 3!! I'm just anxious to get the order in, so I can prepare myself mentally for the date!
I wonder if next years X version phones will also be delayed, or if they will go back to Sept launch. Since it's so late for the Nov 3 launch, I could see them waiting a full year for those to be able to upgrade again.

I'm still undecided. I have a little over a week to make up my mind.
On one hand, my 6S Plus is smooth as butter on iOS 11, however, the battery takes a beating. Hoping that's fixed in 11.1.
I really don't want to be with a 1st gen new design given Apple's QC of late. I thought of just going with Apple annual upgrade program, but I don't like the idea of renting my phone. I may just buy it all at once and offset the cost with a 6S Plus sale. However, that requires me to keep the phone for at least 2 years, otherwise, I might as well rent iPhones for the rest of my life.
I love the design of iPhone X, but at the end of the day, I'm just opening apps, doing what I need to do, then closing them.
Plus I want to see what 2018 brings. I'm hoping all the iPhones have the X's design and the cost comes down to a normal price. I really hope they don't plan on charging $999 going forward.

I'll wait as long as it takes. I'm not camping in any lines for it - I'd never do that. But I'll be ready to place my preorder at 11:59 pm on preorder night, and will do my best to get my orders in. Then I will get back to my normal life (other than stopping by these forums to watch the plane-tracking mania play out <grin>), and when it arrives, I will enjoy the heck out of it. Hopefully it arrives on 11/3, but if it's 12/15, well then there's not much I can do. Same as last year and every year prior. I'm not getting an iPhone 8 just to have something now. I want the best phone Apple offers, as I've had since 2008. In the mean time, my 7 Plus is doing just fine.
I think I'd wait until November 17th. I don't want to be so far out from the September normal launch date. If I can't get one by then, I may end up getting an iPhone SE for $150 at Best Buy and wait for the 2018 X model. I'm using a 5S right now, but I also have an S8 that I don't use because I hate the camera and no iMessage or FaceTime.
My 7+ was bought outright, which I do anyways with phones combined with a cheap Sim Only deal. With that, I am not too bothered about waiting. It sure would be nice to take it with me on my holiday on Nov 17th mind you. But if I don't, then thats ok also. Gives me more time to save up
