ipad 1 to air last year. Although I did briefly have a Nexus

Probably look at replacing in 2016 unless the air conks out before then.

C :)

I was seriously going to upgrade my iPad Mini to an Air 2 this year, because my A5 equipped Mini is now ridiculously slow at some tasks. The amount of website reloads compared my 6+ is actually quite bad. The screen quality or size just isn't right for me anymore. It was when I brought it, but needs and wants change.

I'm not going to now though, even though I have brought an Air 2 for my girlfriend for Christmas.

All the talk of the possible 12.2 inch iPad has made me want to wait. An iPad at that size with the right apps could in theory replace my need for a computer running OSX. My needs are nowhere near as heavy as they used to be.

It kind of varies for me. My first iPad was the iPad 3 and I kept that until last year when I switched to the iPad Mini 2. Then I bought a new iPad Mini 2 this year because I wanted more capacity (32GB) and to switch to the color black.

I have no idea when I might upgrade again in the future. I suppose I'll keep my current one until it gets too slow on any future iOS version.

im still on my ipad 3, saving for an ipad Air 1st gen, i tend to just upgrade every other ipad. ipad 1>ipad 3> ipad air

If you have a Microcenter nearby, I just got an iPad Air (1) for $360 yesterday. Almost went for the Mini 2 ($299), but I watch lots of movies on it. Just upgraded from an iPad 2.

I had an iPad 2, then got myself a mini and let my husband have the 2, I just upgraded my mini to the Air 2

I recently upgraded from the original iPad to the Air 2. I definitely noticed the difference in performance/size/weight. :)

The original iPad got restored to factory settings, went back in the original packaging and became a Christmas gift for my best friend's son.

I have an original iPad mini, that I got December 2012. I didn't realize it was two years old until now. Gosh. I feel like just yesterday I was thinking "maybe I should get one of those new retina minis." Nah I have only had mine for a little while. Can't believe how time flies. I wonder if I should upgrade. My iPad seems to work great, although it spends a lot of time sitting in my car or desk or somewhere where I have forgot that I have one until I need it for something. lol

Being an owner of a mini, I do feel like the mini is the red headed stepchild. While I have preached about the regular iPad being two big, at least it gets the newest tech and they have made it much lighter. hmmmm :D

I went from original iPad to iPad 2. But I've only now replaced the iPad 2 after about 3 years.

Given my limited use of the iPad, I'm pretty happy with 3 years usage before upgrade.

I have purchased every iPad. From iPad 1-ipad Air 2.

Don't know why I do if. I resold iPad 1 after 6 months. Kept iPad 2 almost 2 years. Kept iPad 3 cellular for 2.5 years (just resold it). Kept ipad 4 for one year (got incredible trade in at GameStop with I traded in for Amazon credit ).

So i currently own 2 iPad Air ( 2013) wifi. And one iPad air 2 cellular.

Went from an iPad2 to mini2. I can see myself staying on this one for a while.

I still have my day one first gen iPad Mini. Don't know when I'll finally upgrade.

I don't have a compelling need or desire to upgrade.

Speed is not a factor and specs don't matter as Apple likes to use as an excuse as to why my overpriced iPhone 6 Plus only has one measly GB of Ram, all my Androids have a much more appropriate 3GB. Having spent a whopping One Thousand Dollars on a bloody iPhone, it'll be awhile before I spend anymore with Apple.

Besides I have a Nexus 6 and Note 4 after a stellar year with a note 3. Those two do a great job for me.

I only use my iPad for content consumption, so it'll last me a very long time. For Movies Web and TV it performs just fine. I use my MacBook Pro Retina for work.

So you have:
  • iPhone 6+
  • Nexus 6
  • Note 4
  • iPad Mini 1G

How do you incorporate so many devices into your day?

Had the first Gen, then skipped the 2nd gen, got the third gen, flipped the 3rd for the 4th, flipped the 4th for the Air, gave Wifey the Air, for the Air 2. 1st gen for my son.:apple:
Same philosophy of flipping iPhones for the next gen, covers about 85-90% of the funds needed to get the IPad. I might stay where I'm at now. Happy with the Air 2.

I still have my iPad 2. It's sooo slow now though. I'd upgrade now but I'm waiting for the next iPad release.

Heh, I felt that way about the iPad 3 I had and decided to get the new Mini 2 last year to replace it.

I went from an original iPad to an iPad Mini, that was a number of years (too lazy to look it up) and then a Mini to a rMini.

I don't see myself upgrading to something else for quite some time now that the rMini suits my needs so well.

That's how I feel right now too. The Mini is awesome for me and as long as new iOS version don't cripple it, I'll keep it for a while.

I upgrade every year.

1). I get the new one
2). Hubby gets my old one
3). His goes to the grandson (who is 10 and uses it for school work)
4). The grandson's old one goes to the granddaughter (who is 7).
5) her old one goes to the local children's hospital.

Took a few years to get this cycle. I originally had a 2 and bought a refurb 1 for my husband to travel with. Forgot that it didn't have FaceTime (which was the main reason to get him one) so gave that to the grandkids and bought him a new 2. Then we started the hand-me-down thing with the refurb going to the children's hospital.

Since the oldest one is getting long-in-the-tooth, I justify needing to replace it and I'm not going to buy a new one for the kids so it works out well for me #####.

But we're retired and have the disposable income. Otherwise I would probably wait a couple of cycles.

I bought first, second, third and fourth generation iPads. Wasn't planning to upgrade for another year but played with the iPad Air 2 in a Verizon store. Felt just right in my hands and I noticed the performance improvements. Toss in the 802.11ac and touch sensor I really liked on my iPhone 6+ and I broke down and bought the Air 2.

All my old iPads have been passed down to family and all are still in use!

iPad 3 to iPad Air 2 two weeks ago. I wouldnt have updated but the 3 had gotten so slow and laggy. At the end of the day its just an iPad. Been there done that, they all do the same on a bigger smartphone OS
