I can get through back to back days without sleep and still be reasonably coherent. The second day won't be 100%, but I can fake it well enough. Any more than that though, and I'm pretty worthless.

Interesting that on the page before entering this forum, this topic title is shortened to How long can you last without.... I thought it was going to be much more interesting!

My longest is two nights due to several essays, I was only able to get through it though because of a couple 5 hour energys;)

Look, you're getting tired already! ;)

I've never put education above sleep. I've just scrapped the essays and gone to bed. That trait should probably change in me...:D

at uni i regularly would be up for 24+ hours at least 30, mostly about 36 then i conk out.. I did 48 once that was pretty hardcore! then i did 60 while trying to learn how to use final cut, and flash.. 2 different projects due in that week and they were going very sloooooowly! so 60 hours sorted that out.. then i slept for about 17-19 hours i think, then 12 hours for the next coupla days.. Was all dried up.

I dont tend to do that too much nowadays, working in a superstore (currys) warehouse tends to be pretty grueling, and i need energy, alot!! of energy. so i try to get 7-8 hours, but normally fail!

Sometimes i miss the good ole days of coming out of my bedroom fully dressed from the day before, walking downstairs getting the pizza outta the fridge from dominos last night, and munching away while boiling the kettle. but then sometimes i dont! lol.. It really depends on the amount of activity that your doing over that period. If your about to go run a marathon, i wouldnt recommend no sleep, likewise if your about to go sit some computer programming wizkid exam, with masses of algorithms n algebra in, forget about it! n hit the sack :)

I need sleep. I can't stay up nearly as long as most people seem to be able to do. At around 28 hours of no sleep, there is no way anyone could prevent me from passing out wherever I was. And you wouldn't be able to wake me for a good solid 6 hours, 14 if no one bothered me.

I need sleep too, i am lucky if i am awake past 10pm at night.

longest i have every gone without sleep would be 1 day. I was assisting with the computers at the local ironman event we have every year here in WA. I remember my boss ringing me that night to ask me a question, i had just finally gotten to sleep and mum had to shake me to wake me up. He starts talking i am like who are you again?

I can only skip 1 nights sleep, and even then it only happens at random. If I set out to do an allnighter I'll end up giving in at 5-6am.

Most days I get 6-7 hours sleep and an hour nap in the afternoon.

I can function in very little sleep, but no sleep at all, I can't go longer than 42 hours. Tried and failed this summer.

The Navy wanted to figure this out back in the cold war. So they tested it. After 4 and a half Days all the people in trial were getting sever hallucinations

In college, I could go a couple of days without a night's sleep, especially during midterms/finals week.

Now, in the working world, I'm asleep no later than 11:30PM and up by 6:30AM.

During finals week of my freshman year of college, I made it 2+ days with no sleep. NoDoze and Jolt weren't working anymore, so this guy down the hall gave me some stuff to take. It was legal, and available over the counter. They were called Mini Thins, basically legalized speed. I was buzzing for a couple of days until I finally crashed during my last final. I could barely hold my head head up and could barely manage to drag myself back to my room. I slept for 14 or so hours afterward. I also pledged never to take crap like that again.

What are the odds I'd find this thread right now. I've been up since Sunday morning, working my @$$ off on 20 projects already waaaay behind schedule.

The messed up part - after 24 hours of no sleep - I become very productive / motivated - thank you stress response. ;)

I don't enjoy it, and I'm sure it'd be a LOT easier with some drugs - but I can't do that.

Oh yes, and my record was over 4 days. ULTRA stressed with personal life, work life, and family life. Midway through day # 4, I saw a Pink Jellyfish using my iMac.

Yes I'm serious. The surreal part was I KNEW it was a hallucination, and in spite of this - it was still there floating above my iMac. That was.... wheird.

p.s. I'm going to bed right now. Nite.

I went 12 days once on an exhausting work/school schedule, then I started seeing little shadow critters after all the caffeine wore off--not good, not good at all. I was a teenager with a serious addiction to a perfectly legal substance at least a six pack of soda and 4 pots of black coffee a day at its peak. I don't even like the taste of either anymore, I stick to green tea and carbonated water now.

Two weeks ago I only had 3 hours sleep on a Saturday. Woke up at 2am. Couldn't fall back asleep so I listened to my iPod until the sun rose and had breakfast. That day I drove for an hour, rode my bike for about half an hour and went out to dinner. I'm 16... just livin' it up.
