I just hovered over my name and realized that today marks 20 years since I joined MacRumors! Feels like yesterday...
Any other old-timers here?))

This was the first online community that I ever joined.

Actually, I joined because I had "switched" (to Apple) as the parlance has it, as I had purchased a MBP as a belated birthday present to myself, and I had questions I wished to ask, hence, I joined this forum.

That was in July 2008.

And I have been here ever since.

My user account says I joined Aug 5, 2001. Closing in on that 25 year anniversary apparently. Do I get free Airpods, or access to post in the Politics forum again? Or perhaps become perpetually a free Macrumors Supporter, for all the forum activity I contribute with!

I think your hair might not be so brown as well!
hair? What's that

My wife and kids easily tell me I no longer have a forehead, but rather a fivehead or even sixhead.

I thought you were one of the creators of MacRumors… They should definitely hire you.
I was a moderator for some time. I have since retired, I like the freedom of being just a regular member - even though that freedom has gotten me trouble :)

Viewer since 2003, but officially joined with an account in February of 2005. Was a different time, before iPhone and iPad was a vastly different culture on here. Not disappointed where it is now however.

Avatar hasn't changed in years, though used to be animated. I miss the fun animated Avitars our users used to have. The move from vBulletin killed that feature.

Been about 18 years for me. My participation ebbs and flows. It's amazing how much bigger it's gotten over the years. I think the sheer volume of traffic (and the trolls that invariably come with it) has hurt the sense of community, but that's a typical issue of any forum.

Community def got diluted a bit, but still many great people on here. I think the good folks still far outweigh the trolls!

I get so busy that I forget the community forum quite often which is a shame, as have had many good conversations in this and other areas over the years.
