Sorry, what is an "EU thread"...?Yes, only one EU thread today.
It's nice to get one of those every 4-6 hours so the same group of us can go re-hash the exact same argument and points, all over again, in a fresh thread.

When I joined MacRumors in 2002, Apple was the dark side, BlackBerry was cool, and Android was still six years away! They didn't switch over to the dark (android) side, did they?
All a part of life, I suppose...When I joined MacRumors in 2002, Apple was the dark side and Android was still six years away!
I know a few folks have passed away. Families grow. Interests change. Occasionally someone got mad and stormed out (making sure we all knew about it). But all in all, people come and go and life goes on.

I recently renewed my contributor membership and got the usual $25.00/year, so that is still in effect. When being a contributor went from $25 to $50/yr, us old timers were allowed to keep paying $25/yr for a bit. But that gravy train is gone.![]()
Ha, I never knew that being a contributor was a paid membership type of thing, I assumed that means you're contributing as a writer etc.I recently renewed my contributor membership and got the usual $25.00/year, so that is still in effect.
Back then I was year 2 as a Mac user. Upgraded from a 2000 iMac DV SE with G3 chip to a 2002 PowerMac G4 Dual 1GHz Quicksilver. When I joined MacRumors in 2002, Apple was the dark side, BlackBerry was cool, and Android was still six years away!

If you let any time lapse in between when the membership was about to expire and when you decided to take action, that would be enough for the system to charge you the $50.00. I always make sure that I renew my membership a little in advance just to prevent my forgetting to do it on the actual date it expires.Ah bummer, maybe arn doesn't like me anymore! I was happy to contribute at $25, but $50 was a bridge too far for me.

Clix Pix is correct. The subscription system is automated (nothing personal). For long-term subscribers, the option for renewals at the legacy rate remains unless their subscription lapses without a renewal. If there's been a mistake, please use the Contact us form to let the administrators know.
What other Mac sites???Since 2010.
I was on other Mac sites before then. Jumped on the OS X (Kodiak beta) bandwagon with a G3 Pismo![]()
