I am sorry, but I really don't get this waiting game. Its not like if they come out with a new one, yours suddenly won't work and people will shun you. I say just go for the current one since it is a great machine. Life is too short to wait fro something better to happen.

Since Nov 2006. Bought SR MBP in June 2007,... but LED yellowish,... 2 replacements but still yellowish.... so returned it.

Waiting till they fix the yellow screen issue,... the new MBA has that same issue too.

I think summer 2008 with free iPOD deal!,..... finger crossed

Since late November/early December.
I'd say 2-3 months.

About to buy in December, but then I thought it'd foolish to do so since MWSF was coming in January.
About to buy after seeing no MBP update in MWSF, but then checked the forum seeing people wrote that Apple's been practicing of a silent update.
And here I am, alive and waiting :D:D:D

since last june, haha right around when the SR was announced just didnt have the funds its been a long wait

Ha, same here. And I didn't think penryn was worth the wait when it came out. I figure if I bought it I would have waited almost a year to buy something practically the same as what I could have bought and been happy with a year ago. Hopefully the next release does the trick.

Wait a second, did you BUY the update when it came out in Feb? ...or are you one of these bitches that waits & waits & waits & never buys but complains & whines that its taking so long?!?

Ok this is everything I hate about mac people summed up in one post. Congrats.

People will wait. When they see the new updates, they will complain because some features were not included. So they'll hold off and start a new batch of waiting for updates threads.

Are you talking about me or tail-chasers who bark at Apple like a griping perpetual water-wheel?
Sometimes it gets like Neil Page berating Del Griffith in Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

It's like going on a date with a Chatty-Kathy doll. I expect you to have a string on your chest that you pull out and have to snap back. Except I wouldn't pull it out and snap it back, you would! "Dyah dyah dyah dyah!"
