iPhone 3GS doesn't support FaceTime?

Yep, complete with the front-facing. One of it's advertised features actually.
What does that have to do with an update being released for it to address a security issue?

Are you referring to the SSL fix? There were multiple post-iOS 7 releases for the iPod touch. FaceTime was fixed in 6.1.5 and released only for the 4th generation iPod touch. The SSL bug was fixed in 6.1.6 for the iPod touch and iPhone 3GS.

Cheers for the input guys, I do really hope that Find friends doesn't find a similar bug.

As FaceTime worked good for a long time, before it stopped working and would be very disappointed if the same thing happened to this app (or even maps)

Why don't you just update to iOS 7?

Yup.

Regardless of hardware ios 7 is not a pleasurable experience. Tolerable maybe, but since we have seen previous apple design history its not hard to understand why so many people dislike this new style.

People use find my friends? I downloaded it once, played around for 10 minutes and then deleted it. It's terrible. But hey, to each his/her own.

In terms of how long until it's iOS 7+ only, I feel like that will happen in one more update cycle (during iOS 9 launch) where the minimum requirement to run stock apple Apps will be 7.0. Actually come to think of it certain apps now are iOS 7 only and if you want to use them you must update or get stuck with the buggy version of it.

What didn't you like about the app?
The purpose or the design and functionality?
