How Long Till Mac Pro Update?

OMG! What is the matter with people wanting upgrades all the time. The new mac pros are about 2 months old.

If you think 8 core/32GB ram is not sufficient for your needs and you need an upgrade, go and spend $30000 on a 16 core 128GB box. That should be fast enough for you to play minesweeper successfully since the MP is obviously so underpowered.

How long do you guys think it will be until a significant Mac Pro upgrade? My significant I mean something like a G5 upgrade from a G4. Just curious here...

I doubt if even Apple know. Somewhere between 300 and 500 days, I guess.

from the original post it seems the OP thinks a case design is the only thing that signifies a significant upgrade lol, the G5 to mac pro has more significant than G4 to G5. Just got my mac pro this week and i am amazed and extremely happy, got The Geforce 3x750GB and have 8GB on the way 🙂. Using it for Maya etc

Intel are releasing 6 core CPU's so we should have a 12 core mac pro.

i didn't think the 6 core cpus were the xeon line though (slower bus speeds and cache?
