I'm guessing a matter of days. once people start jailbreaking phones in the apple store their going to push 4.0.2. out so fast its not even going to be funny. BACK UP THOSE BLOBS!!!!!

I say a week, although knowing Apple, they'll likely leave the window open until they release 4.1.0.

I come to this conclusion from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2, it took them 2 months to close it. (late September to late November)

I plan to get my iphone 4 on sunday or monday in a week from now. Do you think I will be able to get one that still has 4.0.1?

You should hurry if you can to be safe.
If the unlock for the i4 is out soon also then we will see an update by Apple that plugs both the JB and the unlock.

can u elaborate on all this for those who dont know about blobs?

SHSH blobs are small signatures Apple makes on a firmware restore in order to allow iTunes to 'successfully' restore the iPhone. It is another stone in the jailbreak process. Blobs just stop you from going back to previous firmwares and using previous exploits to rejailbreak a newer version.

You do realize, my friend, that Apple would take longer than a week to put out an updated 4.0.2 (or more) version iPhone at retail places.

I dunno I bought my phone last wed and it already had 4.0.1 on it. theyll be shipping the phones with the newest software QUICKLY.

so how exactly do you back up these 'blobs'?

Im sure Apple has more things to worry about, like the antenna, and giving out free cases and the proximity

and hell even the white iPhone, lol

No this will be the highest possible priority for Apple. It's an exploit in safari that's present in every single iPhone/iPod touch. You jailbroke by visiting a website. Now imagine visiting a malicious website that takes advantage of this exploit. They'll do it silently and you won't know anything has happened to your phone until it's too late. Now do you understand how serious this exploit is?
