I am doing great! And I know why, I run on power as less as possible, keep the liquids flowing is what the advice is, even when it is Li-Ion
http://www.candlepowerforums.com has some good battery info.
And, that is definitely not the advice.
The only advantage/use of cycling your battery would be to calibrate the capacity measurements.
What would go the farthest to making it last more cycles is if someone wrote a hack to charge the battery to, say, 4.1V per cell instead of 4.2. You'd have slightly less capacity, but much longer cycle-life. There is an advantage to not keeping the battery at 100%, but you can't get that advantage by using it a lot
Apart from that? Keep it cool. They can die with little usage just from sitting under a hot laptop for years. If yours rarely leaves the desk and runs hot, consider removing the battery.
I suppose coolbook, or whatever kept the maximum continuous power lower, would help a little. I routinely play games that give me 1.5h on a MB, which, for the same number of cycles, would be a little worse than using it at a 3-4h rate. Still, only a 1h rate or worse would really be a problem.
50% charge is the best level for long-term storage.
And, last, they are generally good for about three years, even if not cycled much. If you get more, consider yourself fortunate.
