Just wondering how many Apple-made chargers (ie. lightening cables, etc.) you have killed/torn/ripped/broken over the years

Exactly 5 Lightning connectors.
And 1 30-pin, but it was definitely my fault (i stepped on it and the plastic around the 30-pin connector cracked).
The 30pin has a way better build quality, i have 5+years cables i use regularly with no issues.

2 lightning cables, both lasted almost exactly a year and a half. They got extremely frayed and torn-up, although I really don't understand how they get that way. I leave them plugged in to a wall outlet by my bed, and never, ever unplug them (until they no longer work). Maybe I'm sleep-chewing on them :p

One 30-pin and one lightening cable. My phone lays next to me in bed. It hasn't happened in my 11 months with the iPhone 6 plus yet.

I've had Apple chargers/cables since the iPod Nano Gen 2 - have had iPhones and iPads since they first became available here in NZ - still have them all.

I don't see why people always complain, clearly they don't break if you look after them. I got a dock the day after my phone so the cable doesn't move much, still on the original.

I've been through 3 lighting cables and I am very careful. I've been through 3 MagSafe chargers also... Again very careful.

Previously my number would've been 0, but just recently I had a cable stop working which was immediately replaced by an Apple Store. So I'm at 1. I've been an iPhone owner since the 3G.

I have used iPods, Macs, iPhones etc. in more than 10 years now and I have never killed a single charger or cable. However, the earbuds that comes with most of these devices I have been a mass murderer of

When I got my first iPhone, the 3G I used that 30 pin cable right through the 4, 4s and still use it now on my iPad 3.

Since the switch to lightening connector I've gone through about 8 cables. They're beyond crap. It's left plugged in next to my bed when I get into bed I plug my phone in. When I wake up I unplug it. It's not ragged about it never even moves. They just fall apart. After a few months the 'this accessory is not supported' message starts. Then it just stops working.

Using an Amazon one now so far it's lasted the longest at three months.

I have had no iphone or iPad chargers go bad. But in the case of my MacBook Air, that I carry everyday I have run through 2 chargers. In both case the wire connecting the socket got bent and then broke off. Many in my office have had the same issue. The design needs to reinforce it at that point. I do not carry my iPad chargers, so that is a different story.

I have been unlucky with Lightning connectors. They break too easily imo. I broke 2 in 2 and a half years. My 5th gen iPod Touch cable, bought in Dec. 2012 broke, and my iPad 4's cable bought in 2013 broke. Only left is my iPhone 5s one bought on Feb. 2015 so, pretty new. I lost my 4th Gen iPod Touch one, bought a new one like 3 years ago and it is still running. Lightnings are the problem...
