It's not the number of bars, it is the number of dropped call per day. I experience dropped calls even with 5 bars.

West St. Louis County, MO, and I pretty much always have 5 bars. It very occasionally drops to 4, but that's pretty infrequent.

Agreed. I always have 3-5 bars, but I still drop a call or more per day.

5 Bars most of the time... but ever since 2.2 I believe the OS misconstrues the actual coverage qyality

I sometimes may have only two bars, but phone reception is still excellent. No call issues. The bars don't seem to matter for calls.
