Run on battery whenever you need to and plug it in whenever you can. You can plug or unplug any time you need to, regardless of the charged percentage, and you never need to completely drain your battery. Just make sure you don't run on AC power exclusively, as your battery needs to be used regularly to stay healthy. Running a few hours on battery every few days should be sufficient. I plan to run it down to 10% twice a month, maybe.
Nothing. Mac notebook batteries are designed to retain up to 80% of their health (maximum capacity) for up to 1000 cycles. Whether your cycles exceed that or whether your health drops below 80%, the battery is still usable. You just won't get as much life from a charge.
