How possible/likely is this? If impossible would calibrating give it more accurate results?
Calibration does make your readings more accurate, but it's possible that even after calibration your health could show more than 100%. It's only an estimate and will fluctuate up and down over time, so I wouldn't worry about it.
I do calibrate often just because of how I use my MacBook. My battery is generally always charging or discharging while the MacBook
You only need to calibrate every 30-60 days, not more often than that.
I rarely leave it plugged in when it has a full charge.
It's perfectly fine to leave it plugged in with a full charge. Just don't use it that way all the time. Run on battery at least every few days. Read the FAQ below for details on proper calibration and proper care and use of your battery.
Yes, calibrating does help with extending your battery life, as well as keeping the battery icon in the menu bar accurate.
Calibration doesn't extend your battery life. It only makes the readings more accurate. Read the FAQ for details.

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:

Have you properly calibrated, to make sure that reading is accurate?

LOL, my 2006 after calibration (which was replaced last week)

broken records?

My MacBook 4.1 is 33 months old. So far I've had 1128 load cycles on it and my battery capacity is 82 percent. I'm pretty sure I have a super battery. Using coconut battery is and it is reporting that the original capacity is 5020 mAh and currently the capacity is 4119 mAh. I don't do anything amazing, just plug it in when it needs to be charged. I use it every day for school and to watch movies and DVDs and it has been just fine. I guess i just got lucky with mine.

Wow. That is amazing.

MacBook2,1 Battery

100% at 164 cycles with 5623mAh (out of 5600mAh).

The stock battery in my 2007 MacBook2,1 would only hold a charge for about 30 minutes before dying so I bought this battery from Amazon and it totally rocks! Now I leave it unplugged unless the battery runs down below 50% and it works great.

Sheesh, now that is good! Unless faked, ohh ...
My Mac's battery info is similiar, same age pretty much too.

I believe it.

"The built-in battery of your MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air is designed to deliver up to 1000 full charge and discharge cycles before it reaches 80 percent of its original capacity. In addition, Adaptive Charging reduces the wear and tear on the battery giving it a lifespan of up to 5 years."

Now, this is also dependent upon the user's responsibility when using a lithium-based battery, as certain things, such as storing it empty for months at a time, will simply kill it. If used correctly, the service life of these batteries, commonly defined at 80%, is around 1,000 full cycles.

After 50 cycles my battery is 95%, is that okay?

Edit: Using coconut my battery is only about 9 weeks old and has a capacity of 5490mAh out of 5770mAh.

problem?

49% health cycles 309, do i have a problem? or is it naturally just last that long:(

Just a tip on screen shots. Instead of using Command-Shift 3 to capture the entire screen, you can use Command-Shift-4, then press the space bar, then click on the window (in this case, coconutBattery) that you wish to capture.

I'm at 14 cycles with 98% health. Just don't worry people...it's a computer, meant to be used.

here is mine. Doesn't seem like mine is fairing well. My computer turns off at around 90% and doesn't even have enough just to reboot. At that point i have to plug it in and start it up. I have a service battery logo in the battery menu. What do i do? do i need a new battery?

Reset the SMC and calibrate your battery, to make sure your readings are accurate. This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:

Mine's 94% after five. Man, I'm getting ticked. I never had over 5000mAhs on my Macbook, and everyones seems to be higher. YET, I can get nearly four hours before it dies. Something wrong with the sensor?

how come mine has only 95% after 3 cycles?

Battery health will fluctuate over short periods of time. Mine started off at 98%, went down to 92%, 94%, and then rested at 96% for a while. Now it's back down to 94%. All this happened within a week and a half. No worries guys, just use your computer :)

Could someone tell me if this is normal? I have a 2 year old Asus and its battery capacity is still 98%. My MacBook Pro is 1 month old, I just calibrated and battery capacity is 94% at 22 cycles. Im really disappointed... :( is this normal?

It depends on how much you use your battery; how many complete cycles does each have? The quality of batteries also varies between different systems and even between the same systems.

Mine is around 90 percent health and has had 598 cycles. Pretty darn good if you ask me. I wouldn't worry about it though. If you want, calibrate the system and it will give you more accurate battery readings.

Read the Battery FAQ in the post 3 before yours. It's quite normal.

I understand there's a lot of variance in battery life depending on what you do. That said, My 15" 2011 MBP is reporting a life of 2:45 after a FULL charge since I updated to 10.6.8 - is this happening with anyone else? I've calibrated my battery, used gfxCardStatus to force integrated graphics, turned down brightness... and still nothing changes! Don't have BT turned on but I do use wifi.

The reason I even mention it is because when I first got my laptop, it was reporting (and successfully delivering) 7+ hours of battery life using it the exact same way I'm trying to do so now.

Thoughts? Comparing my screenshot to others it seems like my power usage is way off (33 W) but I have no idea why.. I'm not even running anything!

Restart the machine. Then actually use it and see how long you get. You could also calibrate the battery and see what happens then.
